No idea how many available, but worth a punt for anyone who missed out last time.

I'd suggest paying on a debit/credit card, not PayPal so you can take it back to a store for refund if it turns up used!

I see this has a couple of likes but in the interests of accuracy in case you mean your whole statement has been confirmed, whilst the PS5 has been confirmed to have BC no price has been announced at all for the PS5 as of yet.

The most talk of price has been Mark Cerny when he said, "[the price] will be appealing in light of its advanced feature set”.

Obviously I hope it isn't more than £500 but nobody knows yet what the price will be.

Yeah. From what I remember off the top of my head it's one of the b versions. However I own one of these and can say from my experience of heavy use with it that the most I'll hear from it normally is the disc drive spinning when installing something/when starting a game up and occasionally I'll hear the fan speed up if it's a pretty graphically intense bit of a game I'm playing but aside from those two scenarios it seems quiet at a perfectly reasonable volume.

I added heat though - Sure it's expensive but as far as I can see this actually is the cheapest price around for it by a considerable amount and as already said, it is a very sought after limited edition variant (with a handy 2TB HDD right out the box). Although one point I'd query out of curiosity is why Game are charging £500 when wasn't £450 the retail price at launch?

Ah, right - Different places must've charged different prices in that case. I just checked my original order as it made me wonder and it was £450.

these are easily selling for £750+ why are people voting cold?

It isn’t. The quietest revisions are in the Red Dead bundle. Sony released this with the older revision.
Not sure who’s stupid enough to pay £750. but ok

Oh cool - what does it do that a standard PS4 Pro doesn't do?
Scarcity doesn't automatically make something valuable, especially when it's 99% the same as a common item.
Hope they go bust for things like this!

Not quite sure where you've got your confirmation of next year and £500. You appear to have more definite information than anyone else.

Because people that either pay that amount or think it’s ok both need sending to their own island

Except it is one of the quieter ones.

It's specifically a CUH-7116B.

The original Pro that apparently sounded like a jet was a lower version number. (The CUH-7016B)

You are correct about RDR2 being a different model but that's a further model revision to this one (CUH-7216B) and so whilst it is not the most current quietest model, it is though still one of the improved models.

Further out of interest, the Digital Foundry video breaks it down a little but the 500 mil one seemed to run the fan a touch slower (which leads to a slight heat build-up compared to others) but it was thought that was also an attempt at making it quieter still.

Because I hope people boycott shops that feel it’s ok to rip people off on a regular basis therefore sending them down.

For example, my local Game was selling the SNES mini for £99.99 when everybody else was selling it for £69.99!

They’re just idiots and with the Microsoft announcement about having a disc less console I hope that was the nail in the coffin for these as they’ve been fleecing fools for too long

Yeah it is quieter than the launch model, it’s just not the quietest. Unless you really want this edition, the Red Dead model would be best if the noise level is more important to you.
I have one. Would have bought another to sell at this price. But missed it. Good deal, thanks op.

Yeah, that's a totally fair point - Hope I didn't come across as too pushy with my point above.

As far as volume goes though it'll be damned hard to beat the X1X which is a really impressive piece of hardware. Just such a gargantuan pity MS so completely and utterly screwed the pooch on exclusives this gen. (Especially for someone who by far favours single player/co-op experiences now.)
Don't do it people. Don't buy into the 'limited edition' train. Besides, the Pro version sold with RDR2 is the revised model, quieter and cooler running - much, much cheaper also. Get this one.

I didn’t think you were pushy. It was a helpful informed post that you made. Some people might be happier with having this and being content that it’s quieter than the launch model and your post will be helpful for them making the decision.

The X1X is definitely a nice piece of hardware. Hopefully Sony make the PS5 just as quiet. (Early signs are looking good as they are apparently making it power efficient so should hopefully be quieter. ) I have my PC under my tv so fan noise doesn’t really cause me much bother, it’s more the whine of the PS Pro’s fan that annoys me. Hearing it ramping up and down all the time too.
Who cares if it makes a bit of noise? Do you play your games on mute or something?
Biddy29 m ago

Oh, man talking of fan noise you just reminded me - I just recently hooked up my old 360 (the old black elite one with the HDD sticking out of the top) to upload all the saves so I could use them with any X1 BC games and it was so bad I thought I was just gonna hear a loud pop at any point and it would be dead. Then I decided to start the disc that had somehow been left in and the disc drive with the fans drowned the TV out. I think it was obviously more than usual but that in itself reminded me of how loud it could get before and I think it really made me not care as much about how loud my stuff sounds now when I think back and would have to listen to that or the disc driving spinning to read from the disc.

I do think that was more to do with it being one of the original style Xbox 360 models right enough. I picked up a nice little Slim not long after as a replacement to play all the stuff not on the BC program and it's so much more quiet.
