Shame they don't have it for PC.

What????

Works perfectly well with a pad, think it's more you than the game fella - stick to drive club, clearly simulation isn't your thing....

Btw HOT!

It's certainly not easy if that's what you're getting at, but it's a little unfair to say you need a wheel to enjoy it. Like you say though, a superb price. Heat.
How does this rank amongst DriveClub, Gran Turismo 6, Forza and NFS? I have just got the DriveClub season pass so I'm only interested in project cars if it's a significantly better racer. GT is my racer of choice.

Is this 60 fps on consoles?
Mega price! Ordered
heat added but wouldn't touch this game with a 10foot pole after the whole WiiU fiasco.

If you love driveclub then perhaps this isnt for you as its much more a sim where as in my opinion driveclub and NFS for that matter are pretty much arcade racers. Iv'e played GT6 to death and still enjoy a game but project cars is my new 'go to' for a racing fix.
Love the online games with qualifying sessions which are (as with most online racers) slightly spoilt by tits using your car instead of brakes to get around bends
Great game - truly a steal at that price

Cheers, it's only £20 so I've just gone for it. If it's better than Gran Turismo I'll be very happy
Heat added. same hear so many games coming out next month, plus already bought mgs5 so there you go... this game is actually very good played it when it came out. buy it if you have the money..
Excellent price. I've been waiting for this to drop. Also, I had 1000 points from a previous promotion The Game Collection had on so I've managed to snag this at £17.20. Heat added
Well glad I didn't burn off my £10 off Argos voucher on their offer now. Think I'll hold off this game for now. Price is dropping rapidly and Metal Gear is already taking all my gaming time.

I would put this at the top of the list. Much more realistic, though harder to master than those other games. Better graphics, too, and a lot more circuits. Depends if you want something that is more of a sim, there are no cars to buy in this game, they are all unlocked from the start.

I suggest reading this too, if you are having problems with using a controller:
Works for all platforms and makes it much easier to control when you lower the deadzones to 0. You certainly do not need to buy a wheel to play... I'd say about 40-50% of the fastest times on the leaderboards are set using a controller.

You don't need an expensive wheel, we use a £78 Thrustmaster on XBONE and it works brilliantly, really improves the game.
Absolutely rubbish... At this game!
Voted hot for the deal, but my gaming prowess means I'm better off buying Destruction Derby!?!

Fear not mate. I was exactly the same. I bought the physical copy just after release and it was sold pretty swiftly due to my inability to drive any car on Project CARS in a straight line without spinning off the track.

Adios Project CARS! It was(n't) fun.

However, I really, really wanted to get into it. So I figured I would buy the digital version (yes it was £44.99) but, the intention was so I HAD to put some effort into it as opposed to flogging it (again). I actually now find my self semi capable of playing Project CARS with minimum (to no) assists and I am absolutely loving it. I haven't touched F1 2015 or Driveclub since I managed to scrape that tiny amount of PC skill.

TLDR: Keep with it, you will get better, and with that so will your appreciation of the game.

Im glad to stick to driveclub and is a whole better game overall,(just for you info i only bought 3 titles on disc for my PS4 NFS / Driveclub and PCars) and DC is 100% times better overall.
NFS is a joke, trade after a weekend, Pcars controlls are broken, graphics meh and lagfest online. DC is a great game full of "holy ****" moments graphic wise and competent online modes.
Im glad to try the three but DV is the best one IMHO

and again in English?
Driveclub is an arcade game, PCars is a sim. Completely different. And the controls ARE NOT BROKEN... use the controller guide i posted in comment #21 and the controls are perfectly fine
Personally I like Project Cars, though it is difficult to play compared to other Playstation racing games, its difficulty is pretty much similar to playing the F1 games with all assists off.

Trouble is, as soon as I got the hang of it, it became extremely boring playing offline... I usually only play games online (because offline is normally not very challenging)...

Sadly, the online element of Project Cars ruined my whole experience of the game. EVERY online race is ruined by other players or by the game itself. The chances of finding even a handful of players who have the game settings how I want them is extremely unlikely, so I always end up dropping into a lobby that has settings that are peculiar to me. Then the race begins, someone uses the back of my car as a braking system, flips me onto my roof and I spend the rest of the race watching people go past whilst laying upside down on cracked tarmac. If by fluke I manage to have a decent race and find myself in the lead, I will slowly watch as people drop out of the race, just giving up without penalty. If I finish in 1st place, I can almost guarantee that by the time the race is over, nobody is left in the lobby, making the win feel a hollow victory. Then dependent on the settings of course, the car may even blow its engine on the last lap, even with the throttle not fully open.. often this results in a car that is still sat on the start line winning the race, can't be right.

Apart from that, whilst graphically 90%+ of the game is outstanding, sadly some of the cars look and drive terrible. I had a real mk1 Escort and that was one of my main reasons for buying this game, but the look, the feel, the handling of that car on the game is nothing like what I hoped for.

If you like playing offline, its a good price, so get it!...

If you like playing online, borrow it from a mate or something first.

Controls aren't broken at all! If you understand how to drive on a track then you'll understand how the cars handle in PCars.

I never drive a racing car in a circuit, I don't like drive cars in real life, what I do like is racing video games and I played my fair share since the glorious Night driver in the late 70's. I would give a try to the settings that some fellow gamer post in one of the comments, and give another chance.

When you get a game that is more a sim than arcade like GT6 you can drive a simple car like a Ford and is fine and one F1 is a completly different beast, one is really difficult but I would never say controls are broken. Is just hard to tame that beast, when you play Pcars and try to turn racing a ford and feels like driving a red bus that is what i mean.

At least you're not filling your gaming cabinet with rubbish just because it's cheap (which I've been guilty of several times). This is a good game at a good price!

So just to get this right, you don't drive but you think the handling of the cars in PCars is broken?

I've got some news for you, the physics in GT6 is pretty poor and the game is very arcady for a so called driving sim. PCars has it bang on and the only thing that let's it down using aa pad is the obvious lack of feel in knowing what the steering is doing, the weighting and lightning of a wheel give a lot of info to the driver that a pad simply cannot reproduce or a non force feedback wheel for that matter but as for the cars handling it feels pretty much bang on to me.

it is. Apparently the framerate could suffer if you made a custom race with lots of cars, or in certain situations when the weather effects started, but I think I read somewhere that a subsequent patch has made a big improvement.

I know the difference between GT6 and games like Asseto corsa, rFactor 2, etc...
I do have a License but I don't like driving IRL what I like is Video games and that is what I'm discussing, I feel that the game didn't have enough time in testing to find a perfect usable controller out of the box, in my world that means broken.
The idea of fiddling for hours on menus to have a "decent" responsive controller is not my idea of fun. should be acceptable by default and if you want to take advantage tweaking is great to have the options, for the ones that care.
Nice find buzz!
