[PS4] PSVR (PlayStation Virtual Reality) £312.00 @ GameStop.ie

Found 18th Mar 2016
€399.99 and price is changing due to fluctuating exchange rates but better than UK price. Pretty sure Ireland uses the same UK plugs (as I also imported my PS4 from here too). Delivery is also free.

To get the best price use credit cards that does not attract oversea transaction charges like the Halifax Clarity Card (they only charge what the exchange rate is, i.e. €399.99 to £ on the day they take payment) - halifax.co.uk/cre…rd/

Edit: In response to a member's question: they take money funds a few days before dispatch. I understand the change in exchange rates so this maybe a way around this:

Pay now using gift card - gamestop.ie/Gif…art

So they will take the money now. I believe when the product/PSVR is cart and you proceed to checkout, you can enter your gift card number under the "Pay with Gift Card" option.

Disclaimer: I have not tried this myself as I prefer to wait to check out the exchange rate, but going by logic this should work. So I guess keep checking the exchange rate and buy using the gift cards when appropriate!

In the box :

PlayStation VR headset
Processor unit
Stereo earbuds
HDMI cable
USB cable
AC adaptor and power cord
PS VR headset connection adaptor

A PS4 Camera is required to use the PSVR

YES Ireland uses exactly same systems as UK.

do they take money now? If so that's not ideal..but on other hand who knows what exchange rate will be after the referendum
Are they going to be making "adult material" for this thing?

It has a updated media player that plays 360 degree head tracking video.

it is allready out there for the Samsung Gear VR, Sony will need to release a video app that can play your own files, like Milk VR for the gear VR, then you can watch your porn.... but be warned it is very unnerving

And ps move

You don't have to buy any PS Move controllers to use the PS VR...it works perfectly with Dualshock 4 controllers.

Yes, and I would like to know because my friend asked me the same question .
Any free brazzer vr films on it?
Think im going to wait a year or 2 to see how the industry reacts to the VR.
try before you buy as the headset made me and others feel like vomiting from motion sickness

Can you connect this headset to a PC
Does it requires any special kind of games to play with this VR?

Nope, you'll be needing the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift for that. +£650 ish

Worth a look. Heat added thanks
Having tried Oculus Rift I found it amazing for flight simulation. FPS and driving made me feel very ill indeed.
Probably a dumb point, but worth mentioning.
Everyone knows they need to have a PS4 CAMERA as well, in order to use PSVR, right?

It was posted already but not everyone reads every post so I have added it to the description. Thanks for trying to help
€399.99 on the day of payment....with Brexit between now and then you could be in for a nasty surprise especially if the UK leaves and the pound dives.....but then again you may just be happy about leaving and not care about a few extra quid

Oculus Rift is £500 RRP and is very close to the PlayStation VR pricing when all things are taken into account, the difference being with Oculus Rift you get everything you need in the box, Headset,Xbox One controller, sensor and two games.
You get Nothing with the PS VR headset.

itpro.co.uk/des…-is

Sony are playing crafty game by not including the motion camera it gives people the impression you only need the headset so less clutter and also the price is deceiving.

Hang on a second...

I'm all for each system and am glad there are differences, but to say they are very close on price is extremely misleading. A PS4 can be got for £250 (including a controller), and the camera's RRP is £40, so a VR set up ready to play would be in the region of £250 + £40 + £350 = £640. Where I can get a PC to run Oculus for anywhere near £640 all-in.

The point is, the different VR setups are catering for different buyers. A PC gamer won't be selling a rig to go all in for the PlayStation VR and vice versa, they've already made that fundamental decision on platforms.

You need a quite expensive pc to support VR gaming, gtx 970 and a latest gen i5 is the minimum

And I guessing that Oculus and Vive are PC only. Why can't these units be used on both PC and PS4...

Looking to upgrade PC this year and I already have PS4 with move controllers so I was hoping I can buy 1 VR unit for both. I wonder in the future if some third party company will release an adapter or something that allows you to connect PSVR to a PC similar to PS4/XBOX controllers to a PC?
I might just wait for a complete PSVR bundle (vr Headset plus the camera and possibly move controllers) and the unveiling of the rumoured PS4 Upgrade.

While nothing could ruled out, I can't see Sony spending development money on their own VR to then let other systems benefit.
Recently tried this , it blew my mind . Im going to break habit of a life time and be an early adopter.
Lots of various deals worth buying from Ireland due to sterling euro differential,a few months ago i nipped over the border and picked up the Batman Tumbler for £129.00 sterling each.
Problem is when they catch on they tend to put the price up to match UK prices so dont hang around if you see something you want.Heat added.

you could just about get a pre built for the minimum at that price.

for example ebay.co.uk/itm…rue

This is a bit better than minimum.
