Amazon blurb:

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will include everything from the original release of Street Fighter V, along with the addition of brand new gameplay-related content including Arcade Mode, Extra Battle Mode, Gallery, New V-Triggers, a completely redesigned User Interface and more. Current Street Fighter V players will also receive all of this new content for free via an in-game update when Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition releases.

Current players of Street Fighter V and future owners of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be placed into the same player pool, with PS4 and PC cross-platform play continuing to unite fans into a unified player base. The initial Street Fighter V purchase is still the only one that consumers need to make to ensure they always have the most up-to-date version of the title. All of the post launch gameplay content, such as the DLC characters in Street Fighter V, is earnable completely free of charge through completing various in-game challenges and receiving earned in-game currency, called Fight Money. For those who just can't wait to unlock each piece of new content, content can also be obtained instantly using purchased in-game currency.

  • In addition to the main game, the following content will be included
  • Arcade Mode - choose from six different paths themed after classic Street Fighter games
  • Gallery - unlock hundreds of illustrations as you play through Arcade Mode
  • Extra Battle - complete timed challenges to obtain exclusive costumes throughout 2018
  • New V-Triggers each character will have two V-Triggers, adding even more depth to the combat system
  • New Visuals - the user interface is being redesigned with new colour schemes, revised menus and exciting pre-and-post-fight effects
  • New Challengers - The original roster of 16 fighters is joined by 12 new challengers from Season 1 and 2

The game has been out for a long time now, at this price point you might as well just go with Mortal Kombat or Guilty Gear or even Tekken

The original release should have had all the characters and game modes on it. A right con to be releasing this with content that should have been included in the first place.

Not touching this with a bargepole after sfv original release they dont deserve any of my money

Great game great price roll on January for me free update

Hasn't this been sub £15 at least digital? Thought the arcade mode was a free update so why is this getting heat at £25?

Good entry fighter for new comers to the genre, but, better off with ultra sf4 tekken or injustice 2. There is still very little content, paywalls, boring grinds, compared with other options mentioned. This game should go free to play, even then I wouldn’t play it. It gets very boring very quickly, gameplay is stale and all characters follow a cookie cutter design with regards to combos and options. It is very balanced, and because of this it is as I said very boring.

It's getting a free update, that update doesn't contain the 12 fighters from season one or two.

Ok, couldn't understand the price jump. I thought all updates were always going to be free, that's a bit cheeky. Prefer original SF2 and the Alpha series anyway, might have a bash on this one day

The game modes yeah, but why should you get DLC characters?

Shouldn't they have put out a SUPER STREET FIGHTER V first?

And will there then be an ULTRA even after this?

Third strike was the best by far.

Didn't they promise that the original SFV would be the only physical version?

They said you would only ever need the base game and so far they are true to their word

Very disappointed that the extra characters are a DLC code, was looking forward to this as well. I'm gonna wait until it drops to around £15 which shouldn't take long considering how fast vanilla SFV dropped on release.

Cold..... Still no blanka

I want it just because Akuma is on the cover 😫

Personally it’s Alpha 3 for me but on a technical level I agree!

Hope the DLC is in disc.

Not voucher codes

I'll agree with you that there is a grinding element to the game that Capcom could do away with for the launch of Arcade Edition. As it stands I've unlocked all 12 DLC characters through said grind/play and feel a little proud that I haven't spent an additional penny to do that. I do understand though that others may not want to dedicate such an amount of time to a single title.

That said, £25.00 for this version of the game with all the characters to date and the opportunity to get lots of FM from playing through the game's existing modes is quite appealing. Plus those who pre-order will get codes for 9 nostalgia costumes too (not a massive draw but a nice little extra for those who are interested).

Take this to the nth degree, extremely balanced game is where every character is the same, no character has good or bad matchups it’s all 5/5 across the board. Imagine a character select screen with one character, this is the most balanced fighting game there can be, boring though. This game isn’t that, but most situations have been homogenised to the point where it hurts depth and compresses the skill gap. Example, for the majority of the cast the majority of the time jabbing an opponent out of the air when they jump at you is the best response. Sound exciting?

You’ve just knocked your opponent down, you can throw them on their wake up, do a meaty/deep attack that they wake up into, or ‘shimmi’ in the throw/meaty range to confuse them. Combos for the cast often consist of one or two per character that are easy to do, so everyone will do them. There won’t be any wow factor moments or super tight combos to see or learn, I could go on...
