You'll still have all the user created courses which are brilliant just Google the best ones and search for them in game. If you can be bothered you can also play for a bit and let the other golfers get a handicap record then rename them into real world golfers

I haven't played any of the Golf Club games but as this is dirt cheap at less than the cost of a pint (and pubs are closed anyway ) it seems like a no brainer to me.

Thanks for your responses guys. I’m not too bothered about real world courses, or licensing. Just the gameplay and graphics. TGC2019 is £18 or so and not worth it so I’m going to go for this

Worth £2.49 of anyone's cash. Such a shame it didn't really improve upon TGC2 still a great golf game, esp. at this price.

It's actually a backwards step imo - TGC 2019 > TGC > TGC 2.
Having said that, £2.49 is an absolute steal - heat
Have this on xbox one, brilliant golf game. Very underrated. Played yesterday and cut off from the world for a bit while can't get on the course. .
Bargain price BTW, heat added
Definitely bargain price compared to around £9-£14 physical copy from ebay - Heat added

Hi,
I’m not a golfer, at all, but I like getting cheap games that have offline multiplayer and considering this. I used to play Tiger Woods on PS1 as a kid with my family and it was a good laugh, so thought this could pass a bit of time with my girlfriend. There’s not many games we can both play.

In what way are the other games better please? Just pondering whether or not I should stump up any extra cash if it provides extra stuff that I’d be interested in.

Thanks in advance

Many say the putting is horrendous! I don't expect it to be like tiger woods bit is it that bad??

Takes a bit to get used to but it's not horrendous. The learning curve is decent and as you get better you can reduce the in game aid and play with professional clubs. Bear in mind that this isn't like tiger woods where you swing hit and go massive yardage its way more realistic
Frustrating that there’s no active courses 👹

Great find OP, I will be downloading this for sure. Only other golf game I have on PS4 is Everybody's Golf so be nice to have something a bit more realistic.

I hope you enjoy - It's certainly worth £2.49!

Think of TCG as a golf simulator and not an arcade golf game, such as Tiger Woods...
There's no helpers, no after-touches and no unrealistic shots.
It has a very steep learning curve - especially putting... BUT... When it clicks (probably after 3 whole courses), it is a brilliant game that feels very rewarding when you're on it (and painful when you're not)... Just like real golf!

I started the game up earlier, and I’ve gotta be honest, it doesn’t look like it’s what I wanted. There’s a lot of focus on user-created stuff. I was hoping to just create myself as a golfer and start a career mode without having to decide what career to follow. I might give it another try but by the sound of the steep-learning curve it looks like I’ve rushed this decision and shouldn’t have bought it lol

Thanks I've got it installed ready but haven't given it a try yet - perhaps this evening once I've wrestled the tv off the wife and kids. Will try and remain patient with it for those first few courses. Low risk purchase at such a low price, even if I don't take to it. I might report back once I've given it a go...

I've felt like that before about some games, thinking they aren't for me, but then something just clicks with them. I haven't tried it yet myself so will reserve judgment until I have but will hopefully play a few rounds tonight.

I’ll be trying CoD:WZ later tonight I think.

It’s a shame really, I just wanted something a bit pick up and play, like FIFA or Forza. I’m not a golf enthusiast or anything so maybe that would help but I’ll try again another day.

You don't need any of that but if you stick with it, you'll find that the course editor is the life blood of the game... Not so much for creating but for playing other people's courses with differing challenges.

TGC1 is by far my most played game ever - me and my mate (who is closely matched) must have sunk over 1000 hours into it!
TGC2 didn't really grab us as much but we've probably put 200-300 hours in on TGC 2019.
I get that it won't be for everyone but most of the people who don't like it simply haven't put enough time in to discover the gem.

I don’t disagree with you, but I don’t have much time to sink into games (not including our current worldwide epidemic). So as much as I want to create courses and experience others, I’ve got other games that I feel I would enjoy more.

I’ve finally just opened and installed God of War so I’ll be on that soon enough

First 18 holes completed and finished the round 15 over par. My approach play to the green was fine but putting can be a little tricky (so many times I skirted past the hole!). I feel like every poor shot I made was my fault and not the game's though. The career mode seems like a bit of a funiosity though so still finding my way around that in terms of setting it up. But overall I like what I've seen so far

Good stuff - The putting (especially getting the power right) is just something you get a feel for eventually.
I feel like this game simulates real golf so well, bought it yesterday, played a few rounds, you can have the most fantastic round and all of a sudden it goes to pot in one hole. Bad tee off, wind not in your favour, terrible put, I honestly love it, it feels rewarding as hell when you make a good shot
Thanks op.
