Hot! Compatible with Elite: Dangerous

Yep! Which is why I was looking for one.

Fired up the game last night and using the normal PS4 controller is a bit of a fiddle. Looking forward to using a proper stick. Hopefully Ace Combat will work with this later in the year.

I use DS4 now I’ve got he hang of it but this is superior. The throttle control alone is a godsend. Tends to make a bit of noise though so not great if you have light sleeping family members

(using the HOTAS) how the hell does one navigate the comms panel to tell the station I want to dock?

Via Reddit (link at bottom):

The HOTAS 4 plays lovely with this game, and has a custom control scheme specifically for it. There's obviously a lot of commands in the game, but, in brief...

The throttle controls forward and reverse thrust, and houses the DS4 face buttons, R2 and L2. R2 and L2 are on the back of the throttle, along with a special 'rocker' switch, and between them all they handle the alternative flight controls - strafe left and right on the rocker, vertical thrust up and down with R2/L2. This is great as you don't have to switch flight modes at any time, everything is always available.

The face buttons are on the front of the throttle:

Square - hold down and use POV hat on stick to navigate between UI panels

Triangle - hold and use POV for supercruise/hyperspace

Cross - hold and POV for target select. Tap to target whatever's in front of you

Circle - hold and POV for cargo scoop/landing gear. Tap for speed boost

Pitch/yaw/roll all on the stick, with R1, L1, R3, L3 and POV hat:

Yaw is on stick twist and roll on left/right axis by default. The only change I made to the setup was to switch these around, personal preference.

R1 - trigger, shooty shooty

L2 - trigger 2

R3 - hold and use POV hat to look around (head movement)

L3 - don't actually think I've used this...perhaps I'm forgetting something..?

POV hat - redistribute system power between SYS/ENG/WEP

POV hat will also act like dpad in menus, while Cross is like select/confirm and Circle cancel/back

Reading back, that seems like a lot, but considering I'm new to all this and only had a few hours with the game (only played with HOTAS), it's proof to me of how quickly it's all been ingrained in my muscle memory. It's an intuitive setup!

If I've forgotten anything, or you've any other questions, feel free to ask
