Couldn't find this online but thought it was worthwhile posting for the select few with 4000 of nectar points available

More than likely this will be voted cold but some like me may find it useful

With the nectar boost scheme currently going on @ Sainsburys (instore only but can use the voucher once you get it online) till 25/11/14

Spend £20 of nectar points but get £40 to spend in various departments within the store.

For the gaming section you need to get the Entertainment voucher

We purchased the following 2 games for PS4:

Assassins Creed Unity sticker price £42.99 (use a £40 nectar boost voucher) cost to us was £22.99
FarCry4 Limited Edition sticker price £42.99 (use a £40 nectar boost voucher) cost to us was £22.99

Other games available included (most of them priced at £42.99 for PS4/XBox One):

Fifa 15, Destiny, GTA V (for Xbox One was £39.99 sticker price so this would've cost only £20) there were quite a few others but i was ushered away by the parents

THIS IS NATIONWIDE! BUT depends upon if your Sainsbury's store still stock games/consoles etc...

In-case anyone is interested the store we bought them from was in Taplow, Bucks

I preferred to look at it as Gta v being free (ish - only £2.99 and I used a get 600 points when u spend £30 coupon, so pretty near free)

Not sure where half price comes from? nectar points aren't real money.

By 1/2 price i meant the nectar points normally equate to only 500 points = £2.50 so you can use that on your groceries, i felt that was a cost element if you used them for these items as now for the 500 points you get £5

Yes in theory they are FREE so the cost of Unity is only £2.99 & the same with FarCry4 but i could've used the money elsewhere, that is why i felt it would be better to show the actual cost, hope i'm putting myself across ok?

Can upload receipts as proof if anyone is interested

Oh, this is awesome, thanks for the reminder - I've got £60-odd (12,000) of Nectar points that are just sitting there. I'll need to see where my nearest accessible Sainsbury's is!

To understand this properly...

Are you saying that:
- you have to get the vouchers in-store but can then use them online
- OR that you can get the vouchers online but have to to use them in-store?

I can't immediately see this explained fully... once again, thanks for sharing this

Ah, I think you're right (almost):

The vouchers must be taken from the customer services desk at your local Sainsburys
We purchased 2 lots of the entertainment and 1 of the Electrical and 2 again of the homeware
You can only use 1 voucher per transaction so just split them up on the till, Saw a few disgruntled customers at the store when we were doing this
With us we don't normally spend the points so we in fact got unity for under £3 same with far cry 4! Bargains
Strange it's being voted cold but if 1 person benefits I'll be well happy
The store we got the vouchers from allowed us to get multiple vouchers
From what I was told once you have there vouchers you can use online
Good luck with those bargains, we are off to another store tomorrow hoping to get GTA 5 for the ps4
Shame they won't allow you to use multiple vouchers in 1 transaction as I was keen to buy the xbox one bundle they had

cool! thanks for sharing op!

Thanks... will see what I can find! Having found the T&Cs, it looks like the "entertainment" category has to be redeemed in-store.

I went yesterday, traded 4k points for a £40 voucher, and the lady at the desk gave me a £1.50 off £15 spend, so got my GTA V for £1.49
Shame the Xbox One has died and gone off to M$ for repair atm

Do Sainsbury sell PC games?

This would suggest not: sainsburysentertainment.co.uk/en/…sts

I'm hoping that the lists there are correct; otherwise, I can't find anywhere nearby that sells games from the filtering options of their online store search!

I honestly didn't check. Sorry

Too busy trying to find ps 4 games amongst the glut of Xbox one games

Even if you don't get the games there are plenty of other items you can send your hard earned nectar points on

They had the tassimo machine at 1/2 price think it was £59.99 so your cost would've been £19.99 if you take the nectar points as worth nothing or as I would have taken it as £39.99 for a £120 tassimo with a free mug, not forgetting the 2 lots of £10 off vouchers given free with the machine

great thanks

Crap, i have 3940 points, is there a way to get instant points?

Log into account and select bonus points. e.g. subscribe to email news letter = 100 points or install nectar/yahoo search toolbar on a pc = 100 points.

Btw, thanks op. not sure why this is cold. I didn't know about this and only have 800 points, but that's still £8 off anything I want!!

I think you could only exchange in multiples of 1,000 points ie minimum 1,000 = £10 voucher

Well, I managed to get to a nearby-ish Sainsubry's... and now have Far Cry 4 for £2.99.

They were sticking to the rules, though, so only one voucher for entertainment. Now, though, i think I may just have to go back on Monday!

The ... very complicated double up nectar is still running - but they (Indian call centre) told me it can't be used online and I have to use a sainsbury's store that I have shopped in, in the last 12 months - or go to customer services and get them to call Nectar when I'm in store - and one person told me electric toothbrushes were included and someone else in call centre said they weren't - far too much hassle IMO! No wonder these supermarkets are struggling!

You'll need to go to customer services in-store to redeem your points to vouchers regardless, I believe. They do have to contact a call centre, but it wasn't all that difficult or long-winded for me this evening.

No idea - I've reported it to the mods for review.

Perhaps, but it's now much more timely - and given the one-month gap, it would be valid to repost.

never knew how the necter points worked, must shop in sainsburys more often thanks OP

Not actually a repost as i've mentioned specific games the nectar boost relates to, if this was a repost are all the rakuten voucher posts re-posts of the original voucher post?

In addition the hukd searches are as bad as ever as the nectar boost link above didn't come up when i searched for items within the last week, as this boost scheme applied from 3 days ago.

After a month hukd rules allow people to repost an item even in its entirety, i didn't see the deal just got an email then visited my local store & got the games & thought i'd share. Sorry if its offended any hukd members but that wasn't my goal i did this purely to help members out
