Toys R Us are selling the PSP for £99.99 with a free soundstation. They only have the white PSP instock online but the offer is instore as well. My local store has the black and white versions at this price. I have been looking for a PSP for a while and this is the best price that I have come across.

Edit: Soundstation normally sells for £14.95

The new slimmer one with better loading will be out soon, so not sure if this is a good deal or not - I imagine once the new one is out, the old one will drop below this price.

I think some people prefer the old model because of it's 'homebrew' capabilties. The lite version will retail for £129 so it's still quite a saving. (Amazon are taking preorders for this - release date 14th September)

new one is being advertised in gamestation at 129.99, so i guess its up to people what they go for. Homebrew can be fun, but the new one will have options to load games and stuff quicker which is the current PSP's problem

An older PSP can current be modified to run plenty of nice homebrew applications.

I personal enjoy playing Capcom arcade games on my PSP on the way to work. Also, the modified firmware will allow you to play full screen video which is something Sonys firmware would not allow you to, until recently I believe. This is great for ripping your dvds and watching them on the way to work - as I am doing with season 3 of 4400

It is also possible to rip a PSP UMD game to memory stick which really improves the loading time. Much more so than the newer slim PSP. And, if like me, you write code for a living, the homebrew capable PSP makes for a cracking playform to write software for - very very fun.

So if any of those reasons catch your eye - pony up the £99 for a classic PSP. If you fancy a new slim PSP, you can get one for £99 at www.play-asia.com the last time I looked

Update: when I purchased one of these today they did not have any soundstations in stock so they gave me a credit note for £14.99, so the psp only cost £85

They are just rying to rid of their stock now thats why theyve knocked £30 off the rrp

Yes I will prefer the slim one also.

I could have sworn that it ain't available to ship to EU... and UK is part of EU so we can't get it, right?

Anyways, I am tempted by this. A psp phat for £99 with soundstation. Voted hot.

Gonna wait for the new slim one. Can't believe it won't be hacked for homebrew as well ? Nothing has proven to be hackproof in the world of gaming yet...

That said, first of the good old PSP price drops. Good spot, voted hot.
