I can see this down to £149.99 by christmas easily

Do you know if it's instore at game for £199?

Why post then if its a waste of money? :?

Great screen, much better than the rubbish interlace-looking one in the PSP-3000, it was too distracting so went back to a PSP-2000.

But sold that now - the PSP-Go is so nice and compact and light, slips in the top pocket. If you only had one or two UMD's like me with their PSP-2000, it was a nice upgrade, getting 3 'free' games and Gran Turismo - I'm very happy with mine.. £199 is a nice price, I paid £229 at launch - get the white one if you do, no fingerprints, the black one is really bad tor that!!

Apparantly Sony have ditched any plans for existing owners with UMDs any deals on trading up for downloading those titles they already own. Although apparantly the entire backcatalouge will be made available, who is going to shell out money again for the titles.

Sony if you ask me are onto a total failure with this machine, and I wonder if there is to be a future for Sony Entertainment, seems they keep shooting themselves in the foot.

I just don't see why I should upgrade. Even if I were to buy my first PSP, why would I prefer this to PSP3000 which's cheaper and has the "bonus" of supporting UMD, regardless how bad it is.

Yes because Sony have led the market for the last 15 yrs starting with the original PSX and know nothing about gaming, if you ask me in my limited opinion the PSP and the Gamecube are the two best consoles/machines that were ever invented, my PSP is the bomb, i remember my CPC 464 waiting for games to load (prob before your time) and i dreamed one day they would make a hand held machine like this, i think there probably is a market for Sony as long as all the others keep churning out these modern 'games' with their flashy graphics and s#it gameplay

Oh i forgot to mention have you played the peacewalker demo?

You do know Capcom have announced a Res Evil title for the psp scheduled for 2011- should shift a few units no?

Utter pants - Bit like marmite this one love it or hate it

Well coming from my point of view as a gamer that have owned every other Sony console aside the PS3 I differ to agree (and yes I remember 80s gaming since I have been a gamer since before the CPC 464 owning firstly an Atari 400 then a Commodore 64), my PSP gathers dust (if it wasnt for homebrew hacking), few good titles...same goes for the PS3, as far as I am concerned Sony know how to release good hardware but forget how to back it up with good software. Add to this now the ever changing shift in hardware formats and fast changing price structuring to further irrate potential purchasers I personally feel that Nintendo and Microsoft are ahead.

Sony releasing a bad joypad for the PS3, then correcting it, Slimline console price point, release a 120GB then less than a month later an SKU of a 250GB at the same price point without any compensation to the customer (remember Microsoft releasing the Xbox 1 and then dropping the price within a month and at least offering customers a game and joypad). Ditching the UMD slot and not offering users any discount of free upgrade to downloadable titles, changing the revisions 3 times of the PSP without any beneficial hardware advances on a machine that is now 4 years old.

My psp 1000 will never gather dust, i agree the ps3 is a joke, but for me sony made my dreams come true with the psx ie Tekken 2 and followed it up with ps2 ie shadow of the collosus and i feel the psp has taken over now and is my number one choice with its simplicity - pick it up and play anywhere! unless you still miss the good old days of praying your games would load.....

You only need a psp 1000 and you cant go wrong (for now) - there are enough psx eboots to keep us going for ever, i just started playing abes odessy again, still as good as when i first played it. The one major flaw with psx eboots is no L2/R2 button but i am sure you know how to get around this with the analogue stick.

Oh absolutely, I wouldn't knock the PSP on the grounds of homebrew (and I do own a PSP 1000, its a great machine for toying around on, and certainly Abes Oddysee is a game i want to popstation.

But from the perspective of releasing decent games for a hardware thats ever changing I feel that Sony are somehow at a loss in the present market compared to when they released the PSX and PS2.
