Another surprise reveal from Sony at the Pre TGS press con was the unvieling of the PS Vita TV, a brand new item in the growing Vita family. While the main idea of this tiny device is the ability to play Vita games on a television, the PS Vita TV is capable of a lot more.

Measuring 6cm by 10cm - making this the smallest PlayStation hardware ever, the PS Vita TV has 2 card slots: for Vita games and Vita Memory Cards; it will connect to the DualShock 3 controller with future support for the DualShock 4. While this may already be appealing for those who would enjoy the Vita experience on a bigger screen, the PS Vita extends it's functionality by enabling video streaming services and more. PSone Classics and PSP games from a digital library can also be played; Remote Play with a PS4 is a definite possibility in the future as well.

Note does not come with a controller but does use standard Dualshock 3 controllers, DualShock 4 are supported as of update 3.10, you may need to update to be able to use DS4 controllers

Thanks to Dillo1982 for explaining that it needs a JP account.

Whilst is wont play all Vita games, it does play Killzone Mercenary and Persona 4 Golden. A list can be found here en.wikipedia.org/wik…mes

The console is region free meaning you can use English cartridges with it and they should work

Buy this or anything else from play asia and enjoy being hit with royal mail and import charges.

Trust me buying anything from play asia is NEVER worth it.

Even if the cost is actually under £15 ?

I got one from play Asia when it dropped to 52. couple of things to make you aware of

shipping is extra at least 10.

If you use fed ex you will pay duty and there fee of nearly 10

Asian and Japanese accounts only work at the moment

X is back o is select on the controller

uk vita carts don't work even if there on the compatability list I tried loads not 1 worked as the patches have not been put on any store for uk games.

all in mine cost just over 90 with shipping and duty but it came within 3 days

that been said it's a great bit of kit and if you want to play your ps4 via remote play in a different room then it's great. all you need to do is set up a hong Kong account (all in english) log in on both ps4 and vita tv then you can boot your uk account and log in fine

No uk games work on this, I have about 30 vita games and not a single one works, that should change when the firmware gets updated for official release.

I plan on getting the UK version when it's released, purely for Ps4 remote play in another room as my Ps4 is currently in the gaming room but some games I'd rather play sprawled out on the sofa as opposed to sitting at a desk.

Wrong my UK games work fine with it. Dungeon Hunter Alliance, F1 2011 ect. Am not saying all work. Only the once that are compatible with the PS Vita TV. Once the PS TV comes out in the UK I no doubt that you will be able to log into your UK account on the imported version. Happened to a friend of mine when the Vita launched in Japan a few months before it released in the UK.

He could not log into his UK account so had to use a Japanese account. Once it launched in the UK he was able to use is UK account on his Japanese Vita. I don't see why it would be any different for this. I am currently using mine with a Hong Kong account in full English including the PS Store. Been using remote play as well which works really good.

As I mentioned above some UK games work on the Vita TV. Only the ones that are actually compatible with the system (check out the Japanese compatible website).

I have a load of games that are on the "compatible" list, they still don't work, even persona.

As I said before note all UK compatible games work (yet) but some do. They are just two examples. My UK copy of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 does not work (yet).

Oh yes, I expect them to work when the firmware gets updated, that's why I got mine really cheap from an eBay seller who knew no better.

Ps Vita Tv is out in hong kong and korea so you can use a Hong Kong psn account where every thing is in English.

I can be sure you be hit with customs and vat fees later on. Because one of my friend is the victim. He brought something there and when it arrive he was happy because there were no bills of customs as he signed that he received it but two week after purchase, Fedex sent an invoice with admin fee of £10.86 and then whatever the item VAT 20% on top. So beware of these scams
