Paying full price for a football shirt is ludicrous

I am genuinely shocked that you think this is a good price for a football shirt..... I assume this is meant to be ironic???

1. Nice looking top
2. As with 90% of football shirts ( crazy crazy price) and have never been able to justify with myself how could I spend £40+ Or over a tenner on a piece of material with a few logos on that is only relevant for 12 months in a lot of cases, because of change of sponsor or kit maker. very convenient to change sponsor 1 year , then kit maker the next as a lot of clubs have got into the habit of doing to be able justify a new kit
3,money making con for all involved and not just this kit
4,that's my moan over with

Agree. Buying a football top nowadays effectively means that you're paying to advertise the shirt sponsor.

A con.

my suggestion has always been if you buy a season ticket ( which are crazy price anyway) you get a replica kit- even though the clubs would add £50 to season ticket price so my suggestion is flawed because ONE BIG CON

And this may become sportsdirect coldest deal ever

£10 cheaper than what the Puma store is selling it at.

Shirts are expensive but that applies to all newly released shirts.

Want it cheaper? Wait two years when they release the new one.

Well it's cheapest around, which is the idea of the site.

So yes.

I wouldn't pay £45.99 for the whole Arsenal team never mind about that shirt!

it's a good deal compared to other prices. but yes it's a con cause it's a football shirt. but who buys kits for anything else other than love for their team it's not an investment

any free delivery codes knocking about??

But what if they got promoted to the premier league would you then stop supporting them?

I doubt very much this will happen in my life, but if by some remote chance it did then I would love to support my team in the league of milk and money, then again I doubt very much I would be able to afford a family season ticket like I do now.

On the rare occasions I do watch premier league games on TV...I and I am sure most other people can see that with the exception of the top clubs...Attendances at most games is poor as your average man in the street either can't afford to go or just feels that premier league football and their 'stars' are not just worth the high turnstile price.
Premier league clubs get vast amounts of sponsorship...as do their players...it's a business. A multi million pound industry that the average working class man(like myself) will probably not have the funds to take his family to see at weekends.

Ffs where are the moderators on this one? Can anyone show where you can get a top cheaper and if so then declare it and vote cold, if not shut up!

Well if its expired is this now the cheapest top?

Nah the premiership is most exciting league in europe bar none and maybe the earth (I dont know about other continents)... the attendances for some matches might be poor but teams like southampton last season showed that its a league where anyone can win, as for stars alot of the best players in the world have past through the premiership even the lower clubs have players that have featured in the World cup. True the ticket prices of the top 6 clubs are expensive but the others are not so bad. The lower league is more about mistakes and not so great football (kick and rush type football) I don't often watch the championship but when i do I'm surprised at the number of defencesive mistake that are made.

Agree too many people vote on what they like regardless if its cheaper or not. They are ruining this site

To be honest I am not sure why I even bothered now. I am new to this so unaware of how things really work.
Yes I appreciate replica shirts can be expensive. Having saved up since hearing about a new kit deal I was pleasantly surprised with the price. I expected to pay at least another £10 - £15.
On release day Amazon were advertising an RRP of £70 and a selling price of just under £50. (They've adjusted price slightly I notice).
By going into our local Sports Direct store I paid the same as the online price but saved on p&p.
I believe Puma and Arsenal themselves are slightly more.

They are cheap for a reason.

I got mine from the stadium on launch day then saw them cheaper at SD so bought more for my friend abroad that I'm going to visit soon. Then noticed the quality is poorer than the official store version. I returned them but they only refunded in full for one items because they used a wrong barcode sticker and only store gift card for other 2.

I don't think it's SD's problem really. Puma doesn't seem to have put much effort in this kit. Even the official ones are not so well made as Nike's. Also since SD had this on their website long before launch with the same pics (just saw a leak reported on 28 June). it seems more likely a pre release version that they might have received much earlier. Puma has probably improved some details before the official launch date.

Maybe later SD will start selling the official version but now I have voted cold and will tell everyone not to buy from SD.
