The local farm shop has a great offer on strawberries, no wonder the supermarkets can afford such massive price cuts..

Great price if you're local. Heat added.

Sorry but that's way too local

Help your local farm shops, hot.

it was more of a post to say, asda, tesco, sainsburys morrisons, may have a sale of fresh fruit where your paying £4 for two, local farm shops are far cheaper.. And your supporting your local economy

My local farm shops are overpriced and don't offer very good value for money, £11 a kilo for chicken breast, it is worth it when you do find a good farm shop that is also value for money and not just extorting money off people who want to eat locally

69p sounds a bit too cheap to me. Add time to look after a crop, pick it, sort it and make a profit?
Think of minimum wage and this suggest that it takes less than a minute to pick them?

Strawberries is one of the biggest margin for supermarkets, we all know that. They want to keep that margin though obviously.

I doubt that a lot! They get 30-50% margin of most brands, but obviously the highest from their own branded range

Try100 to 200% markup! they will not sell at less than 100% markup on anything!

Maybe on skincare, buy on food and household items it is not, there is a difference

I was watching a supermarket show about strawberries and the guy himself said it was one of the highest profit margins for them so thats why they wanted to increase the time in which strawberries are in season.
