Half price on the pure argan oil at Holland and Barrett, instore and online.

I know that there have been some cheaper offers recently, in Home Bargains or Primark, but this one is not mixed with anything, just pure oil.

I have been using many products, various oils included, on my face & hair, but this one is by far the best, both for my face & for my hair.

I cannot praise enough. On the face, it is not too oily and penetrates the skin easily (I normally apply my usual cream afterwards and then it goes into the skin even better). On the hair, it makes it smooth and shiny and soft. I apply it very sparingly though, just 1-2 drops rubbed first in my hands and then on the hair, first the ends, then a bit all over the hair. It smells very natural, a bit like olives (but not like olive oil).

Is this essential?
This sounds like something I could benefit from, thanks MmMd.

I don't understand your question. Essential... oil? Essential... for your skin or hair? ? ? ?

I think Argan is a carrier oil and not an essential oil x
moodamoo55 is right - Definitely a Carrier Oil rather than an essential oil
This offer finishes on Wednesday the 5th, just in case anyone was going to pop in to buy some (I work there)

Argan Oil is used for cooking in places like Morocco. Go to your local Moroccan supermarket and buy litres of it for peanuts

if you live in London perhaps...
Argan oil costs approx £80/litre in Morocco
Thanks
Very interesting to hear how cheap this is in Morocco! Here it is touted a something precious and rare and priced accordingly! I can testify it is very good for face though. Lovely stuff
I bought some oil Argan oil in Morocco and definitely does not cost £80 per litre. Much less than that. I bought some Argan oil for cosmetic use but not sure what to use it on? Does cosmetic mean for face, hands, body, hair etc? There are various types of Argan oil. Some for cosmetic use and others which are edible.
Holland & Barrett - so nothing anyone needs then!
Prefer to fry in sunflower oil myself!

You would be surprised Some people spend a fortune and swear by things that Holland and Barrett sells. Some of the things are really good, but I am also skeptical about a lot of other products at the same time. This oil is really good for your hair and skin though, it seems to be tried and tested as doing it what it is claimed to do

Cosmetic Argan Oil, cold pressed is best, can (and is) used all over body, great on skin, nails (small amount added to bath)
and hair (small amount, overnight is best shower off next day) You'll notice a difference softer skin, less signs of aging
Loads of Ideas about blending with other oils if you Google
I personally use a small amount blended with others after I shave...No more shavers rash, spots, pimples etc and great soft skin

I've been using this oil last 2 mths and its just awesome..you can add rose essential oil for a dewy feel. Rub it on ur skin after a good scrub and also on your hair roots 3 hrs before a shampoo or overnight...it makes ur hair fabulous. Add few drops of rosemary for good blood circulation.
Sorry, but I've tried this - used it for ages on face and hair but didn't notice any difference to anything I'd used before.

Thank you for pointing that out to me, but I can read just fine Some people do need certain things, like the vitamin and herbal supplements. As I said before I am skeptical about some of the products but there are many customers who come in and say they cannot live without x because of how much it has helped them cope with certain health problems, like arthritis, insomnia, menopause, eczema, acne, etc. Just because you may not need it, does not mean that others do not. How many of the things that are posted on HUKD and in shops do we honestly need anyway?

I agree the last sentence!

Being married to a pharmacist I hear all the stories and the reality. If you NEED this stuff your doctor will prescribe it; 99% of it you could save labour by just tipping it directly down the toilet. Some of it is even potentially hazardous to health. It's mostly in the mind of the consumer (see homeopathic remedies).

It's not so long ago that cigarettes were sold as being good for you!

I agree with you, they should be prescribed it if they really need it. I work for Holland and Barrett as a Saturday person and a lot of the time I will say to customers if it is a certain illness or a particularly bad problem then they should visit the doctor first if they haven't done so already. That's what I would do if I had a problem, I wouldn't go to a shop first! I think there are certain things that you cannot be prescribed though, which is why people come in to buy them or they say their prescription medication has not worked for them and they are looking for an alternative. A few customers have said their doctors recommended they take Glucosamine or Lutein but I'm not sure if that is just the doctors way of saying something to keep them happy? I know a lot of women who come in say they do not want to have HRT and would prefer to use a herbal remedy instead, so I guess it is down to personal choice too. I completely understand where you are coming from though, I was just giving a different point of view from what I hear customers in the shop say and I didn't mean to doubt your understanding of what Holland and Barrett sells, there are just a lot of people who say all we sell is rabbit food and I thought that you may be one of those people

I know certain products can be hazardous or can cause damage if used long-term, but I think all medicines even prescribed from a doctor come with possible side effects. We always advise customers about anything potentially dangerous though (such as mixing certain herbal medicines with prescription medicines). I don't think that people need them in the sense that they will die if they didn't take cod liver oil, but I do think that once someone has found something that helps prevent or relieve what they are suffering from, then it would turn into a need as it helps to make their life a little bit easier
