I got one of these just over a week ago for £35. If you search for the smaller mono portable Pure radio that was posted for £25 via Amazon someone commented with a code to get £10 off at Amazon. With that I got the Classic for £35.

Very good radio and worth £45 (but even better if you can get it cheaper)

Go to this hotukdeals.com/ite…e=5 and look at post 62. Better sound, line-in and can pause & rewind live radio on this one

Good radio, but DAB stations are shutting down left, right and centre at the moment…..

Q Radio, Panjab and NME all gone in the last month. And with the threat of 6Music and Asian Network going as well.

:? So Radio 1, Radio 2, Forth One and Real Radio are still safe for now then??

Excellent radio - as stated above I got one from Amazon when it was £35 with codes but think its now up to £39 (£49 with £10 off).

Ah, thanks for that, buying from Amazon using the code is a much better deal and a choice of colours too. Well spotted

This is a great radio. But £40+ seems expensive. I picked mine up 2 years ago for just over £20.

But my point would be that DAB launched, like Freeview, as a new format carrying a wide range of new stations not found elsewhere. All four you’ve just listed are readily available on FM. At considerably less cost.

I have one of these and it's an excellent radio which has very good reception. Would certainly recommend it.

Yes I agree but some people want a DAB radio because of its superior reception as well not just for obsure channels - I can't get FM/AM on a normal radio as the reception is so bad. I have wanted a DAB radio for ages but only for the kitchen and couldn't justify spending a fortune on it. This little gem turned out to be a total bargain and the quality of sound is excellent on all channels. albeit the usual run of the mill channels but that suits me because that's what I want.

DAB rocks i thought eventually all radio would have to transmit using DAB.

I wouldnt say reception is better on dab its just different depending on your area.

Its worse when you have bad reception on dab as it has a bubbling mud sound and cuts out,
with fm you just get more hiss. It seems you have better reception on dab than fm in your area but it doesnt apply to everyone.

That was the plan but with only 20 odd (25% ?) of households having a dab radio its unlikely to happen now after more than 10 years pushing the technology.

The only other country in europe that was broadcasting dab has decided to abandon it as well.
I think it was a scandinavian country.

I hope the bbc realise dab is the past and push dab+ instead but since they are shutting digital stations it seems unlikely
