Pure One Mi DAB/FM Radio, everyone else selling for around £35. Not bad for a budget DAB.

dont agree with the first bit, awful are you serious?

not used CS so cant comment

Completely serious. Seems you either get lucky or very unlucky with pure equipment. When it goes wrong it goes very wrong. To be fair, my problems have all been with pure equipment with cd players. Seems they source the cd players from del boy as they all stop working. Their answer when I contacted them was they would give me a discount on a new piece of pure equipment. Why would I want to buy new item from a company who couldn't even be arsed to acknowledge that their cd based equipment has an inherent fault despite the numerous reports all over the Internet. They made me very cross.

Says £28.49 on amazon

Ho do you get it for £21.99? It is currently showing £28.49, has the price gone up?

Yep, £28.49 for me as well.

I've had a Pure One for the past couple of years and it is the best out of my 3 DABS. Check the specs but you may also be able to use it as a speaker for your phone/MP3 player.

Why buy a DAB radio if it can't also do DAB+?

Last thing I read was that this was being looked at again & the UK's early decision to go for DAB (only) was going to be reversed so that we fall in with everyone else going for DAB+.

This one is updateable, but the sound quality is quite poor - on par with it's el cheapo nature. [I got a free one with the recent Daily Mail coupon collection]

However, a Pur One Elite I got for my daughter 2 years ago is excellent. This one amazon.co.uk/PUR…1-6

My wife bought me a Pure Elan Dab Radio about 5 years ago because someone told her they were the best. Well it wasn't good at all. The DAB sound was tinny and disappointing considering it cost £60. She took it back as possibly faulty but the replacement sounded exactly the same. Ended up getting a refund and spending the money on a Sony DAB radio instead and what a difference. The sound and build quality was so noticeably better that I haven't considered buying another Pure product since.

Wow what a lot of negativity - I have used a variety of Pure DAB radio's and I can vouch I have enjoyed all of them. Sound quality is very good for the price you pay - as well as the reception; which is outstanding. Much better than Roberts or Philips. My Sony DAB clock does not even come close with either sound quality, ease of use or reception.

I bought this little radio for a friend of mine (to use in her kitchen) and she is also delighted with it.

The whole DAB thing is a disapointment to be fair. Which statations I can receive depend on which side of the house I am in and which radio I use. DAB via my Android phone is more reliable but kills the battery. I tried looking for a DAB car radio the other day to make the 50 mile commute easier and it looks like most manufacturers have ewither missed or given up on the tech. I decided to see what the signal would be like so took my Roberts Solar DAB to work one day. Got reception for about 40% of the journey.

Don't forget If you are static you can use your Sky box, Freeview/FreeSat or PC to listen to any radio station you can get on DAB plus some that only broadcast in major cities eg. helpmechill.com

I bought a Pure one for the Kitchen last Christmas, and can't fault it, quality is very good. As for Amazon prices, they can vary hour to hour, When I was shopping for my Pure, it went up £10 from the am to pm, and next day, was back down again, they seem to put up prices the more demand there is.

BreadfredWow what a lot of negativity

I'm not wanting to be particularly negative (I have a DAB radio) but the whole issue of DAB/DAB+ is annoying to say the least.
I was far from happy to find out that we may have to change radio all over again just because the UK jumped early and everyone else waited & went for the better later system.

I like the extra stations we can get and when it works properly the clarity is very good, sadly I find that that is restricted to a handful of stations.
