Any one tried this on BBC I player?

I keep hearing of "get VPN" but can't make head nor tails of whether I need it or not?

Anyone got any input on PureVPN

Strongly advise that you steer well clear of these people. I bought an annual subscription. Problems setting up, supercilious tech help. Eventually worked OK for a month then stopped completely, managed to get going again in spite of there tech people. Major problems. Stopped, slow speed, kept dropping off, wouldn't connect. Got fed up of tech people talking down to me when they did respond. Would not work at all, they refused a refund. PayPal no help as they said outside the period. Many, many many people with similar problems. ..as I said... steer completely clear

"Their" tech people ...sorry predictive text wins again

Would not trust these, they say they dont keep logs yet they do, fine if you only want for netflix but even then give it 6 months netflix might be clamping on people using us in uk, better altnernatives that have nt been involved with lieing about logs (they dont keep logs of what your doing just logs on where you logged on from ip)

So what vpn is good.

If you're asking you probably don't want/need one

I tried this, don't waste your time or money.
the service was very unreliable, there is no security and the software is very buggy.
disconnects leaving your IP visible to everyone while still saying your are protected. Their support is truly awful, they suggested using an older buggier version of their software then turning off my firewall and anti-virus.

speed around 1 MBs for those who want to know.

They also don't like to refund, I ma having to go through paypal dispute to get money back.

avoid them like the plague!

I tried it just with Kodi on a firestick - they were admit it worked, until as I originally pointed out, that it wasn't doing
anything - they said - 'oh yeah, we know there's an issue with our app and firesticks' @?!?! - had to chase them up
to get my money back.

still don't know what to do with Kodi now I'm on BT, doesnt seem to do anything

Kodi doesn't need a VPN to run, regardless of ISP.

I never said I needed it to run it - I needed it for my add-ons that no longer work as it does very little since moving over to BT - the ISP has to be problem, worked fine previously.

No mention of add-ons in orig post; it just mentioned Kodi. Put the VPN on your router, or run the VPN on a standalone network passthru device immediately prior to the Kodi device.

You can try this but not with this vpn provider and not if you have a Virgin Superhub as output is disabled. To be honest, if all you are worried about is security rather than streaming then use the free vpn on opera browser.......who also claim that a streaming version is coming "soon"

PureVPN supports router installation as mentioned at support.purevpn.com/rou…ide I am not interested in the service; it's member jasonwood999 that wants to circumvent the restrictions that BT is legally obliged to impose.

The guide to install PureVPN to a router is here support.purevpn.com/rou…ide , but not much use if you have terminated the service except for general info that may be applied to other VPN services.

OK try it, DOES NOT WORK .....IRRESPECTIVE of any misleading claims on pure carp site

Yes. Its working fine.

Bought 2 years about 3 months ago for $70. Have given up, too flaky at peak times. Frustrating as hell swapping servers all the time. Swapping protocols etc. Gone with PrivateInternetAccess 1 year @ $36.99 and added onto an ASUS Merlin router. Perfect so far without a blip. Anyone want my Pure act let me know.

I sense opinion clouded by frustration. Other peeps have been successful in configuring PureVPN to run on the list of supported routers.

One of the better providers is IP Vanish. It gets rave reviews. Similarly, you get 5 connections etc. Was looking at getting three other together to take out a years contact. Once of the 5 connections isn't great, hence why looking just to utilise 4.

AirVPN is good. They are the most transparent VPN company I've come across and their software is open source. Unlike PureVPN, they don't keep logs either: restoreprivacy.com/vpn…es/

Yeah, I've come across airVPN also. Having left NordVPN. Think airVPN are decent.

I haven't heard about it. Is it a newbee in the VPN market? How many servers it has?
