Even if it's not great, at 54.5% you'll quickly stop caring! Worth a go at this price, I think.

It is great. I was trying to think of some witticism, but I can't. Actually it is superb rum, though clearly a niche product. Intense taste, very smooth, but very rummy! Not for your average Barcardi drinker. I like to take some when I go camping. At this price I'm very tempted, but I'm not going camping, and I'm avoiding spirits - damn you OP

Tempted to give it a bash at this price

Me too!
Certainly can't doubt the pedigree, it doesn't get better than Pussers!

Tempting!

Ok so I only really like dark rum to the extent that I'm actually a fan of lambs navy rum over most others. Is this a nice dark rich Rum?

Ordered as looks right up my street! Like my good single malt but like my rum rough and ready! The stronger and darker the better!

Never tried it before, but have heard good things. Ordered! Heat added too. Fanx.

Omg this is absolutely gorgeous, velvety smooth superb

Love a bit of pussers

Tried it the last time Amazon had it on offer. I suspect that it was too strong for me as I didn't care for it. I preferred the Rumbullion which is also on today's Deal of the Day.

Even if it is mingin, you could still clean out your wheel arches with this stuff!

Lol

How much is the Rumbullion? I can't see it on todays deals?

This stuff is amazing, far better than things like Kraken which imo is quite an average rum!

I joined the RN six years after they stopped the tot but they still spliced the mainbrace on special occasions and after having had my tot a number of times, 1/8 pint of rum (3.5 x 25ml shots) which is 1.37x strength of regular spirit (equivalent to 4.75 shots), I can understand why they wouldn't want me having it on a daily basis at midday whilst maintaining helicopters.

'The pusser' is a colloquialism for anything belonging to the Royal Navy but was actually the name of the person responsible for holding a ships purse strings, as it were.

Gunpowder Rum for £25, cheapest its been for a long time. Great stuff.

Bought...can wait to light the fuse!

Should be Purser's Rum then not Pussers1
Must have been somebody drinking that day

I bought a bottle for this price at Xmas, easy to see where it gets its name....

There has to be some kind of award for that comment.

Explain the etymology of a word and then get told that words should not evolve.

Language is a beautiful thing thanks to evolution and you would be surprised how much naval slang you use without realising; not to mention countless other argots. But if the use of pusser rather than purser got under your skin, I'm glad; very glad. In fact, I ordered a bottle just to pìss you off.

Yes I'm sure you were as was the evolution of your intelligence through your family line, if you think the word Purser to Pusser is evolution..
What a deadhead!
