Is this the set from the West Indies?

Nice! I paid £13 on Tesco Direct a few months ago. These are really good but the round lids are seriously difficult to get off

I'm glad it's not just me who thinks that! They were so useless that I threw the lids away in the end and just use them as mixing bowls The rest of the set is fantastic though, I use them all of the time.

Damn cheap - anyone else managed to pick these up?

Which tesco is it?

There were about 50 yesterday. Not surprised they've sold out. I've expired this now.

Yeah, I posted the same thing about the lids on the round ones when the deal was posted at the higher price a while back. Great price for these if you can get them though.

Definitely still some in the Irlam tesco

Is it in Tesco extra slough?

Oh, the lids aren't that tough to open. I'm sure you'll be alright without the need of your wife to help you open them

Any around Southampton or harrow?
Thanks

31103375-8A7uJ.jpgA word of warning. I had a Pyrex product given to me and unknown to me the formula had been changed from old. I went to make gravy in a Pyrex jug with water from the kettle and the thing smashed into a zillion pieces. I saw the fractures and thought brace I have 1second before this thing explodes so turned my body and face away.

Was it cold before you put hot water in it?

It came straight out of the cupboard. The retailer confirmed that this was normal - that for example making gravy you could not use water at boiling point from the kettle.

So you could you safely put this in a pre-heated oven then?
