2020s Posted earlier at £99 at John Lewis and are going hot but these are £20 cheaper at Richer sounds with the possibility of £10 off with VIP. and a way longer warranty and Richer sounds are excellent when it comes to repairs or replacements.

The 2010is are excellent performers and set the standard at this price and size level" What Hi-Fi? Sound & Vision magazine.

Affordable quality
The Q Acoustic 2010i standmount speakers are a quality pair of compact speakers at a surprisingly affordable price. Designed by true hi-fi enthusiasts, the 2010i use excellent quality components for the price.

Smooth treble response
The soft dome tweeter with a smooth, sweet sound is the ideal match for most budget amplifiers, which can be a little rough in their music handling. The new tweeter unit is also decoupled from the rest of the cabinet, so it isn't affected by vibration from the bass woofer unit - an impressive touch at this price.

Revised bass woofer for superior integration
Combined with a redesigned crossover, the up-rated woofer unit now integrates with the treble for a smoother and more seamless mid-range. The bass unit may be small, but its long-throw design also offers up a surprising amount of power for its size.

Class-leading construction quality
In addition to sounding better than most speakers at this price the Q 2010i is also better finished. Flush-mounted drive units and curved edges not only improve the aesthetics but also help the sound.

Perfectly sized to be used either on their own in a small room or as part of a home cinema package, Q here for the informed choice of small speaker.

My mistake sorry, still a great buy though. They are still £99 on JL site and the other colors go to £164. That why i made the mistake.

the bigger 2020's are great as the front L&R, 2010's are great surrounds. 2000ci for the centre and you have a great surround system.

I have 2010's which are really great; but 2020i's have both High and Low frequency connections, so are even better. I am very tempted to upgrade my front pair! Good find Op.

My Tv is in the corner on a stand that has a vesa mount and their is no room i have every gadget their it the stand is full and because of the location wall mounting for the fronts is out of the question, ive always wanted some big floor standing speakers but my lounge doesn't have the space in the right areas to fit them. On my stand i have the Bostons on the middle shelf and on the top shelf above i have the Onkyo Atmos speakers as they are meant to be over the left and rights and mounted under the TV i have the center channel. Im tempted to get a pair of each and figure it out after but to be fair the Bostons sound great and fill the room and are very loud and the Sub shakes the room so i dont really need to upgrade but when you are into home AV you always want something better than you have.

For anyone interested, these speakers are 4 ohm.

Superb speakers for this price, I've got the newer 3010s and they're excellent. Nearly went for 2020s but they were too big to use as PC speakers on a desk.

4 ohm , does that mean they need more or less power to drive ? or something different :-)

More current needed to drive a 4 ohm speaker, just check that your amp or Av receiver will accept 4ohm speakers.

I understand that you say due to the location wall mounting is not an option, but are you sure? I mean you can get swivel wall mounts and toe-in the speakers to the listening position...may not look 'conventional' but it is an option.

I use a pair of side clamp wall mounts in the bedroom above the wardrobes and mount bookshelf speakers.

Excellent speakers at an excellent price. I have 4x 2020i and a 2000ci for the centre with a KEF Kube 2 and they're amazing!

Would these be good to use as monitor speakers with an audio interface?

I have a pair of the 2020 and the 2000 centre in gloss white which look amazing, brilliant speakers on a AV setup, had them with a basic pioneer sub before getting a BK Gemini (British made) and the whole kit sounds brilliant. I have ordered me a set for the PC amplifier. Might see how the bass goes, as I might need a sub in the future.

Nice to see a Richer Sounds special that you don't have to drive an hour for.

Thanks OP

I have Q Acoustics tv mount soundbar and it blows away all the other soundbars in sound quality and volume. QAcdoustics make seriously good sounding speakers.

so what is the main difference between the 2020 and 2010 model? I'm looking for a good all rounder..

These are awesome. I have them as PC speakers with a Amptastic mini amp, and a Beresford DAC

Small size speakers never going to get close to big ones.

No mater of the brand and money spend.

Not really true.

There is only really small difference between 2020i and 2010i.
They both need subwoofer as this size of the driver and enclosure will never produce deep bass.

While played with sub 99% of population will not here any difference.

Anyway.

They sound great but looks even better in white gloss.

Grey ones looks just average

Pair these up with a decent cheap or second-hand amp, chromecast audio and you have a cracking little set up alternative to SONOS et al for £200

Was looking for a pair of speaker for bedroom setup. Have a Denon M39 and was originally looking at getting a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 9.0 for £40. Does anybody know if these are a better option?.

86db? Rather have something like monitor audio.

+1. There's no replacement for displacement. Ever.

Heat added nice find. Can anyone recommend a set of budget stands for these thanks.

Try one of those cheap Tripath amps which appear here frequently and you'll be a happy bunny (together with the Chromecast audio of course).

Will these do go for extra speakers to makd 7.1?

Got the onkyo s7705 setup.

How does this one compare with JBL Control One?

Nope. They're 6.

Indeed I stand corrected. These speakers are rated at 6 ohms:

Its the left and rights, ideally they should be under the TV i understand where your coming from but that doesnt allow for my Atmos speakers. I might just get them and give it a try, thanks for the ideas.

I don't get you, 2020's over 2010's have more power and better clarity. Of course I have a sub and I made no claim to them having deep base?
I spent a good hour in SuperFi with them all setup on a TX NR609 as a 5.1 package with the matching sub when I found the 2010's lacking a little, The salesman fetch a pair or 2020's and recalibrated then threw the upgrade into the deal as I liked it.

2020's are fine for stereo alone when you want bass but don't need it to rattle the doors.

I have Tannoy Mercury F1s with my Denon DM37 minisytem. Would these be a significant improvement over the Tannoys?

I have acouple of (dumb?) questions:

1) Is it it feasible to rock these as pc speakers or would it be overkill/not practical?

2) What would be the best small amp to drive them for that purpose?

Thanks!
