I think these are 169 at richer sounds too. As anyone who has bought from richer sounds before they are a fantastic uk company with excellent customer service so I would personally rather buy from them.

Agreed. The seller on amazon is actually Richer Sounds so may as well go direct.

Probably a stupid question, but would you still get the richer sounds warranty if ordered from them though amazon? Only reason being is that I have an amazon balance from a gift card

They are sold and despatched from RS so I’m not sure how much amazon has to do with it other than the transaction. Personally I would phone RS and ask them direct.

Will do thanks. I presume they’re still packed and posted by Amazon, since they’re prime. Unless they do self-fulfilled prime

I’m not sure as it says despatched by RS. I think if it’s ones from an amazon warehouse it would say sold by RS fulfilled by Amazon or something like that. I don’t really know. When I’ve bought stuff from different sellers in the past it’s come with their own invoice etc in the box so that might happen here. As RS is such a genuinely helpful company I’m sure a phone call would be helpful and then you can update us here for future knowledge.
Based in NI and seems Richer Sounds UK website doesn't deliver to my area. Went ahead purchased through amazon so hoping RS might still offer their warranty.

This is my first purchase for a q acoustics 5.1 setup, will be keeping an eye out for other speaker and receiver deals. Always appreciate the audiophiles comments and debates on these threads as it gives me plenty of research items being new to this tech
How is the 3020i different from 3020? Is it worth the difference in price?

Richersounds.ie for NI

Checked RS.ie already but was showing slightly more expensive £188
I found these performed better when on stands. I bought the dedicated stands.
I got these with a voucher for £160. They're worth every penny at this price. Very neutral sound though, so if you're into bass heavy music you'll notice more of the rest of the range, as they're not bassy at all.
Got these speakers in my 5.1 set up with the 3090i centre and they are superb with amp
had the concept 20 fantastic speakers matching sound to a standing speakers at a very good price

I'm not sure if they're answering the phone at the moment, but they've never had an issue matching the mainland prices or beating any other mainland retailer. They'd no issue beating Peter Tyson for me on my Denon AVR and Q Acoustics speakers, saving a few hundred quid off their in-store prices at the time. They also insisted that I come in for a demo to make sure I was happy, new speakers opened for the demo and left with unopened speakers too. Great guys in the Belfast store.

I have many purchases from RD with their 5 or 6 year warranty, I just hope these times don't force them out of business.
Damn that's a good set of Reviews. Sadly rear ported so....humm....bad news for me.

Why? Because of positioning close to a wall? What alternatives do you have in mind?
Great price, just note that new gen (a bit larger though) has just been released: 3030i

Yeah, any speakers I get have to have go close to a wall. Thought I was in for luck when I saw those outstanding Reviews. Then saw the port. No alternatives in mind because I kinda gave up looking because I was getting conflicting advice about rear ports and walls. Then again I've still not got my new amp out it's box that I got before Christmas! And I've probably listened to music through my speakers no more than 5 times this year. It's just that I upgraded my amp and cd player and fancied a speaker upgrade to go with them.
Anyone recommend any decent speaker cables?

By any chance do you know the difference between 3090c and 3090ci (looking to upgrade to one of these)? The price is much higher for the later (£89 vs £149), wonder if it can be justified.

I'm in NI too m8...no chance you could order them online to pick up from the RS store in Belfast?

I'm looking into q acoustics too for a 5.1 setup. The 3050 or 3020 for front and 3010 for rears.

Don't they come with a foam bung to use near walls? The 3050i does.

They might but wouldn't it be like castrating the sound? Rather get something that works well in my environment, namely front ported I guess.

To be honest I struggle to tell the difference between the bungs in or out. And my 3050i are right up against the wall. But I do have a sub and the speakers set to 'small' so the sub handles most of the bass, so it may be different if you don't use a sub?

Definitely.

I've bought from them sofa... onkyo... AV receiver back in 2012 ish also paid few quid for extra 5 years warranty.
Just before end of extended warranty it started to freak out. They gave me free temporary replacement while my one went back for repair. As it couldn't be repaired (mainboard) and it wasn't sold any longer they just offered free replacement in same price range (inc discounts etc). I mage decision to get something better and pay the difference. They offered me free 5 years warranty starting form the day of upgrade.
Good luck getting something like this from amazon after six months.

BTW. Amazon service is not what it used to be. I was one of the biggest fans of amazon, while this days I'm on opposite site of barricade. I'll rather use paypal protection from ebay than deal with amazon sending me back to manufacturer once return window is gone.
Bought for £188 a couple of weeks ago along with the matching centre, considerable upgrade to my 10 year old 1000i series that they've replaced - highly, highly reccomended.

What do you set the speaker crossover at, 80Hz? It really depends on the room and positioning. The bungs can help control the bass a tad if it's a bit boomy, it's not a guaranteed fix though, but if they're fine without, you wouldn't be able to tell like you say.

In UK consumer law they can't send you back to the manufacturer, they are the retailer and they are responsible. Of course there is one thing saying this and one thing doing it. I know alot of companies try to bounce their responsibility.

Maybe in first 12 months.

What about extended warranty?
Let's say product on amazon with 3 years warranty. What you going to do if chat says "go away"?

Send this letter to their legal department citizensadvice.org.uk/law…on/

If that doesn't work print it out and send it recorded delivery, very few people do this and it usually gets the desired response.

Still not got a solution? Small claims court is one form away. If all of us actually exerted our rights probably then companies wouldn't think they could get away with palming people off. It must save them millions.

Depends on the ohms rating of these speaks, they are probably 8ohms, if the logitrch ones are 8ohms too you would be OK but may need to make some custom cables depending on how they connect to the sub which I'm assuming is where the amp is located. You can check the ohms rating with a Multimeter if you have one just check it across the speaker terminals / cable assuming they are passive speakers.

You actually reminded me to change the crossover; I recently bought the 3050i (£320 direct from Q Acoustics, crazy) on the misprice posted recently and hadn't changed the crossover. I previously had the Tannoy HTS 101 XP up which were good, but the 3050i give a much bigger and wider sound. I previously had the crossover at 120 for the smaller speakers but changed to 80 for these. I believe the 3020i don't give a huge bass in comparison so I'd have thought they'd be OK. Certainly, my brother just bought the 3020i and wall mounted them and is happy. For the price, I think it'd be difficult to get better. They are, however, surprisingly deep but would depend on your room as to whether they'd look out of place. I would say that, for the size of them, the HTS 101 XP are amazingly capable little speakers. You'd never believe you could get such a good sound out of something as small. I've still got 2 up as my rear satellites.
