Q ACOUSTICS QAV WALL MOUNT REAR SURROUND SPEAKERS (PAIR) £49.95 DELIVERED FROM SUPERFI, THAT'S HALF PRICE.

Have been waiting 4 month for Pixmania to get these delivered then Superfi came up with the goods for less.

Most places are offering these about £80-£100 mark. I've ordered 2 pairs for my 7.1 set up.

Here'e the blurb,
Surround sound speaker placement is often a tricky business. Most rooms do not have a television on one wall and the sofa in the middle. It's often not convenient to have large bookshelf speakers on stands at the back of the room either. What's the solution you ask? How about the stylish, compact and unobtrusive Q Acoustics Q-AV Wall-mount Rear Speakers? Available as a pair or as part of the full, matched, Q Acoustics Q-AV 3.1 and 5.1 systems.

Styled to blend in with skirting board or coving, the unique shape of the QAV rear speakers allows them to be discreetly placed at the back of the room. Although they can be free-standing, the speakers are easily wall-mountable. Once placed, if you weren't looking for them you'd probably never even notice them.

The Q Acoustics Q-AV Rear Speakers deliver a wide soundfield from an incredibly discreet speaker.

Great speakers for a great price.

well thinking of adding these in the bedroom with onkyo 608 what can i use for front and centre!! good prices will help thanks

If you don't already have the 608, SuperFi are giving £40 in HMV vouchers with it if you send off the reciept. I think I might get some of these for zone 2 in the bathroom. I think cheaper to risk these and be prepared to replace rather than spend the extra on bathroom speakers.

awesome speakers, heat added

could i add these to a set of jamo speakers

Hot - don't need them, but still a good deal!

These will do as Zone 2 speakers for the conservatory.
Many thanks OP

tried to order and the order wouldnt go through. Rang Superfi and they have said that they are having trouble with the 3D Secure system

Same problem for me.

Any views on whether these would be OK for a kitchen squeezebox installation?

Would these be good enough to go with an Onkyo 608 with Mission 753 floorstanders and matching centre? Or would I need something with a bit more power to avoid benig drowned out? Also considering a B&K Monolith sub. Expensive business this hifi stuff!!

I had issues ordering these yesterday for the same reasons. I rang them and Superfi 08447362705 option 2, spoke to an op said they were having issues. I was told to complete the order using the off line option. You get your order number and phone 01159861785 to pay, or you can use their details to pay by bacs.

Hope this helps.

Cheers Groovii D, that worked out nicely.

I've been using 4 of these for over a year now in a 7.1 setup and they are excellent speakers, not just with surround sound but also as stereo speakers. You wont be dissapointed with these little babys.

for a 5.1 setup dont u need the speakers at ear level for the best surround sound? these go all the way up to the coving or right down to the skirting

What kind of amp, would you use with these speakers, thinking of getting a 5.1 surround setup but dont know what to pair these speakers up to. Any ideas?

Could these be used to enhance the sound from a Panasonic lcd, just plugged into the back??

What do you have for the other speakers in this set-up?
and what amp are you using?
Just interested

Would a pair of these be any good to place in the kitchen and power through a Technics amp ?

Wife does not like old large speakers ?

e.g. Would these handle music played pretty loud on their own ?

You'll need amp to connect the speakers.

Thanks OP!

I know nothing about speakers so question would these be good as Zone-2 speakers off my Onkyo 607 amp? and if so what cable do you suggest and would I need any special connecters to wire them up to this amp?

Thanks in advance

I say this every time somebody asks for a speaker cable recommendation:
Two core mains flex. Comes in a variety of colours, easy to get hold of, doesn't cost at all much, works just as well as anything else.

Bought these to go as rear speakers as I upgrade my onkyo 2.1 setup to 5.1, now need a similarly priced centre speaker... Anybody any ideas?

Thinking of getting them, but!

Are they any good, or are they just budget speakers?

Anyone found any reviews?

Mine just arrived, impressive. Great service from Superfi.

I ordered yesterday afternoon and paid via BT.

It still says order received. I have sent them an order message and tried to get through on the phone but after a load of automated waffle, I press 2 to speak to an operator and it says" sorry there is no one availbe to take your call" then cuts me off!:(

Arrghhh all I want is to ensure that they have received the money and that the speakers will be sent out shortly!!

Thanks that works for me :-)

Oh just a thought does anyone know do I need banana plugs or anything else to connect these to my Onkyo 607 amp?

Thanks

These speakers have screw down type terminals. I'll check later to see what size hole they have.

Obvious question maybe but how do these attach to the wall is there a bracket or do you have to buy some form of fitting kit?

Original Poster

They are free standing or have their own intergrated bracket that allows them to be mounted either way on the wall.

And you are right - however the asker never wants this answer... They want fancy oxygen free mumbo jumbo and are happy to pay silly money per meter. Hifi twoddle make me laugh!

Original Poster

Talking of oxygen free, 1.5mm paired 20m for €6.99 @ Lidl.

Think I was doing it right, but the mounting brackets are not secure enough for my liking if you're going for ceiling rather than skirting mounting. I used a screw in hook and hooked on the stand instead. Easier, less holes. Happy with the speakers for the bathroom.

anyone tested these yet? any good?

(got mine still all boxed up, wont be tesing em till new telly comes just after xmas!)
