not very good for the Q6600, yes it will run, but only two ram slots, the Q6600 is very good for overclocking and gaming, i reckon this board will hold the cpu back, its only a £35 board.
better of buying the cpu and a baord seperate.

Yea, The asus P5KPL-AM iG31 would be better (option 2)

If you were planning a serious overclock, you want a better mobo

for example this bundle: Gigabyte GA-EP45C-DS3R, iP45 Express, S775, PCI-E 2.0 x16, DDR2/3 1066/1333/1600, SATA II/RAID, ATX + Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 SLACR, Kentsfield Core, Sok 775, 2.40GHz, 1066MHz, 8MB Cache, OEM
It's £217 but the Mobo costs £100+ so £117 for the CPU is a sweet price.

The cheeper ones would be good for someone wanting a decent spec mediacentre, for example.

You could allways buy the bundle and flea-bay the motherboard....

Erm..can someone put a direct link to the bundles...I'm struggling to find them from the Scan main menu!!

Probably only 15 Mins left on this deal ! If you add to your cart, it will be valid untill you close your browser. I have used this method to get stuff from 2 different 'daily specials' before

It feels weird seeing this deal up here today. I contemplated buying a Q6600 over a year ago, back when it was around £140. I contemplated selling the E8400 I bought instead and putting the cash on a Q6600 about 9 months ago, but that was when the Q6600 was around £100.

Seeing it today though, turns out that £160 is about the going rate for the ]chip by itself, so you practically get the motherboard for free. I'll be voting Hot now.

Q6700 is cheaper and better than the Q6600, these bundles are a good choice if the chips are retail, not so good if oem.
