I flew with Qatar for my first time last year, and it was so spacious for economy! I'm use to feeling like am cramped in a tin can but these guys are well worth it plus one of the cheapest to fly with to east Asia

Such a nice airline
I flew with Qatar for the first time last year too. Worst flight in economy ever. Had 2 people in the area by the emergency exit sat down on the floor, eating their in flight meal.

Food (if any left of your choice off the menu) and service was well below standard.

What is standard for you?

'Must' be completely true if there's a whole Wikipedia page on it.

Well, stewardesses stepping over out stretched legs of people eating on the floor, and ignoring an obvious safety issue is a start.

I think you may have misread my question.
Not on mine

You want really good service, fly Business or First. Or get your own food. The airline is required to get you from point A to B as per ticket conditions, nothing else.

I am always amused when people buy the cheapest ticket and then expect a 5-star experience.

To be fair, Qatar constantly cite their 'airline of the year' and other skytrax awards, hence a 5 star service is only to be expected.
And when you don’t sign up for their unsolicited commercial emails (spam), two years after your flight they will send you their spam anyway.. and when you contact them to find out why they are breaching the GDPR they waffle on ignoring the question and a week later send another. When you log into your account and see you are NOT signed up for their spam and ask them why they are sending it they just go silent. I had to block the email address in the end. Spammers. Beware of them.
Great airline and service, even economy
