Thought I would post this as it's quite a novel product. I own one that I use with a tablet and the build quality is decent, everything works as it should etc.

I can confirm it was over £100 3 months ago on Amazon too.

Interesting idea, but I don't really see the point. Why would you want loads of wires coming out of your keyboard? Isn't one of the main advantages of having a hub to be able to put it slightly out of sight and have all the cables out of the way?

Yes sorry should have said.

I don't find it a problem as I am used to them from travelling, in fact I am unsure what the difference is outside of a few modifier keys and the enter button. However yeah could be problematic for some I imagine.

Valid point that.

I actually quite like it in a lot of cases though. For example I have it plugged in to the back of a Mac at the minute and rather than do an awkward "reach around" to swap a USB drive I can do it easily from the keyboard. Same with inserting a SD card or usb stick, messy maybe yet very convenient.

I thought the same thing, it's encouraging a mess in exactly the wrong place.

I'm sure this product has a use for some people, but I'm sure, not for most.
Out of interest does anyone know what would happen if you used this with a device that didn't support power delivery.

So no power delivery via the host USB C? I didn't know that was possible. The keyboard has two USB C ports one connects to the computer and the other can be used as power delivery to the computer. So I can connect my MacBook charger to the keyboard for example and charge the MacBook (rather than use an extra one of the MacBooks USB C inputs).

Maybe I misunderstood your question though.
How hot does it get? I know standard hubs get pretty toasty when used with my MacBook. Can see this effecting longetivity of the keyboard. However I love the concept so heat.

Yes exactly. I have a Lenovo laptop which doesn't use USB-C port for charging, and for reasons known only to Lenovo doesn't support power delivery.

It would be really handy to have a powered hub to allow the connection of multiple devices with high power draw but I have no idea if these things are smart enough to allow that without damaging the laptop.
The fact it's reduced by 48% in 3 months proves it's a niche product
Might be good for Samsung DEX or in my case Huawei users.
Also should note at this price that a few years ago USB C docks with this port selection were £200 so i think it’s pretty good value at this price! Could be useful for things like a newer NUC too. The key issue with most USB C/thunderbolt 3 docks (and eGPU) is that the cable has to be short to maintain transfer speeds (less so on USB C). This often means designing your whole desk around that and using a laptop in clamshell mode. This resolves that issue.

It's not bad at all but I have not overloaded it with devices to test properly
I don't know why but I want one. I feel like it's quite a cool thing to have.

I see... I couldn't tell either way could be expensive to find out.
@chunkyboymania
How long is the usb-c to usb-c cable that it comes with?
The listing also says it's not compatible with thunderbolt 3, is that right?
niche product and its a shame its only in US layout
Would have bought it if it had a Trackpad
@chunkyboymania

hi, have you tried copying large files etc from one usb 3 to the other? I have a 7 port usb c hub and its significantly faster using it with 2 drives plugged in to it (as you would hopefully expect).

Think the cable is 1m. I use it in a Thunderbolt device and it works fine but at USB C speeds
I think this is awesome. It being a niche product is not relevant. At this price its a steal!

Hi mate, sorry missed your question.

So I get USB3 speeds as expected if plugged direct to a USB3 port direct to the motherboard. Not sure about improvements with multiple devices, I would have to run a test on that. I can if you like but I expect the results would be as you imagine.

Cheers Bubbles.. I only posted because it is niche so may need some exposure. It's really cool travel companion though if not quite a main keyboard day to day.
this has dropped to £49.99 now btw
