Anyone got this and/or know whether it handles Plex ok? Can you also use Docker on this?
Currently using WD MyCloud as a basic solution anyone upgraded from them to a proper NAS like the QNAP or similiar, find it better in terms of perfrmance anfd features?
According to this review there seems to be a capacity limit of 6tb on the hard drive?

Have this and it runs plex brilliantly, currently have two 12tb ironwolfs in this without and issue.
What is Docker mate?
Yes it supports Plex and Docker using Container Station App on the NAS. I would recommend upgrading the RAM if you're planning on streaming a number of Plex streams. You can also use the HDMI to stream direct to your TV from your NAS.

That was the old version. This is the Plus which supports Seagate 16Tb drives.

Good luck if something goes wrong and need customer support from QNAP!

As long as your internet connection can handle it.
I want to get a nas for my sonos but don't know what to go for. It will only be to stream lossless music and a little backing up, I would probably put 2, 2tb hard drives in as my music would take a little over 1tb. This or WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra - Black, Diskless £103 plus the hard drives would be a little over £200 but I don't know what the quality is like. O yeah I will be using plex any suggestions would be very welcome.
Saw two questions on dockers.
Dockers are containerised applications that you can run independently of one another. It allows you to run multiple applications without the need for creating different VM’s. This is because dockers just use the same Linux kernel they’re hosted on; while maintaining their independence.

There’s an abundance of open source applications you can run in docker. I personally am running around 60 applications on my server.

Here’s some links for more detailed information;
Docker details: opensource.com/res…ker
Examples of Applications you can run: linuxserver.io

The best part, they’re open source.

Thanks that’s a great help
Good stuff
Good wee box, can accept up to 64TB when using the add-on but will handle more than you can afford.

QNAP support ain't great for hardware issues but you have 2 years warranty if you buy from Amazon.

Plex certified for 1080p.
