The TS-253Be features a simple physical design that can easily fit into office and home environments. It provides a PCIe port that can boost its functionality: a QNAP QM2 expansion card can be installed to add M.2 SSD caching/10GbE connectivity and support for Qtier auto-tiering technology, or a compatible wireless card can be installed to use the TS-253Be as a wireless access point.

So few NAS deal this time around
saw this @ £227.98 flash deal a few weeks ago on amazon. 2gb version. 4gb sticks sell for around £20 ea. and this unit has a capacity of 8gb.
good find but I wouldn't consider it a good deal.
Nas prices are rediculous. I was a qnap fan for years, now built an unraid server which is more powerful, feature rich and can be cheaper than this. Build an unraid server.

Yep. I’ve been waiting for 2Gb to drop back down. Looking at this version as it includes 4 x CCTV licenses.

Monitor your power costs and usage over a year and then come back and tell us how much it costs you to run you unraid server vs a QNAP..

cmonday nas deals on the wd stuff look ok …cmonday nas deals on the wd stuff look ok https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/wd-20-tb-my-cloud-pro-series-pr2100-nas-3353158

I have a feeling WD massively sponsored the BF event, as its just been WD stuff with no real look in from any other manufacturer!!
The WD ones are ok if you want raw storage, but not great if you also wanna multipurpose them (i.e. plex, etc)
You can get this a bit cheaper via Ebuyer Express on Ebay at the moment.
Not quite the "20%" off as claimed, but a reduction none the less.

Ebuyer Online = £359.99
Ebuyer on Ebay = £394.99
With "20%" code PARTYTIME (20% or £75 max, whichever is less) = £319.99

So really £40 off when comparing Ebuyers online price.

Just did something similar with a Synology NAS.

They say power consumption saving add up over the years. How does your creation stand up to that?
