- Key switch:Cherry MX mechanical switch technology
- N Key Roll over: Full N-key roll over via PS2
Connectors: PS/2 or USB (PS/2 to USB adapter included)
- Keycaps: Removable for easy cleaning, 4 extra orange key caps and key cap puller
- Media keys for volume control, play, pause and skip tracks

Unlike your average keyboard, that functions through rubber domes, forcing you to press each key all the way down in order for the stroke to register, the MK-50 feature true mechanical switches with unmatched accuracy and feel. No more pressing with full-force in order to activate the keys. The QPAD keyboard will respond to your every stroke in an instant.
Other boards normally have a short life span and wear out quickly, resulting in unresponsiveness, delays and a dull, clunky feel to the keys. The key switches on MK-50 are built to last 50 million strokes, and the QPAD mechanical key technology provides distinct feedback and puts you in absolute control. The travel distance of the keys is set to 4mm with an actuation point at 2mm.

For gamers, it’s all about the feel and functionallity and that is where the QPAD MK-50 truly shines! With a full size keyboard layout in 3 sections, mechanical key switches, media keys and full N-Key roll over, it’s the perfect gaming keyboard.

Argos deal has already bee mentioned in the game listing earlier today

This site costs me a fortune.

Amazon reviews really good (only people who gave 1 star did so because they got a German keyboard) and its the cheapest I've seen a mechanical keyboard.

Have some heat

Just noticed they have another keyboard on - the Ozone Strike Mechanical Gaming Keyboard for £44 which has USB and audio ports

Anyone know which is better?

Basically they are rebrands of the same board. the only real difference is the type of cherry switch used "black's in the ozone red's on the qpad. as to which is better its personal preference. Persona;;y ive gone for the ozone as i find the ports usefull

I tried the qpad out in currys and the one I tested had a lot of key rock, place finger on a key and then rock it, there was in my opinion excessive play, if this is not a concern then a great price for mechanical.

Thanks! I went for the Ozone as well just for the ports. You can see space for where the ports would be in the Qpad so, like you say, it is the same keyboard. Phew

.

with what mech boards go for on ebay, its worth taking a gamble on these as even if you dont like the board you should get your money back once the offers gone

I went for the qpad because the ozone has blacks and I think reds are seen as better for gaming?

There's no real rules tbh, but generally reds are good for fps games or any games where you hold keys down.

I think this is the better board for games, blacks have a lot of resistance and will tire your fingers out quickly.

Great thanks mine is mainly for fps.

I'd run with this if only it were backlit =[ still cheap for a mechanical with mx reds

to buy the switches alone would cost more than this! v cheap!

Got the MK-80 and it's a cracking keyboard. This is an absolute steal.

Good price, been wanting a mechanical for a while. Hot!

Too slow, not USB 3.0.

My mechanical keyboard (which used hall effect sensors) failed when the plastic key caps became brittle and snapped off! (The switch underneath still worked, however some of them had broken "sockets" so a replacement keycap would fit back in place). All other keyboards feel spongy to me!
I also had an AlphaSmart - must dig it out!

yep or a normal keyboard is just the same. save yourself a lot of money.

I was after a mechanical keyboard mostly for typing but also a little gaming. I have nowhere to try any out so I guess anything I get is a gamble..

I have the QPAD MX-85 with the backlight, and cherry blue keys, its a fantastic keyboard, incredibly well built, although you will take a little while to get used to the clicky nature of the mechanical keys

I've got the MK-80 with the blues.... very nice for typing and also ok for gaming on (fps tried and tested).

I'm sure I read somewhere that the MK-50 letters wearing off?

Old keyboard has seen much hard gaming use and some of the keys are less than responsive. This has had good customer reviews and also on independent review sites.
Ordered, heat added.

Must add...good deal tho op

Are there any good backlit mechanical gaming keyboards for this sort of price?

Good price, unfortunately I'd prefer brown switches myself.

Wow. DEAL! I almost bought this keyboard last week, but got a nice deal on the MK-85 model. At this price, I'm tempted to get it for another machine.

You're asking for what all of us want man. This is the cheapest I've seen a good mech in the past few months.

Take a look at the Quickfire range by Cooler Master, those are the cheapest you're likely to get regular price. TK is very nice at least.

I hate red keys - for me they're not precise at all. Too easy to press when gaming. I much prefer blues for gaming, because you get a tactile bump when pressing the key.

I'm not sure if this keyboard has anti-ghosting, which is quite preferable for gaming... and for anyone saying "you cannot press so many keys at the same time" I used to have ghosting on my previous keyboard playing BF3.

I believe the MK 50 and 85 are supposed to have nkro over a single USB. The first of its kind as, usually it's through a PS2 or twin-USB cable for such an ability

Each to their own. I've had my MK-85 (Cherry MX Reds) for a few days now and I'm really getting used to the reds. Gaming's also been really good with stuff like Dota 2, Battlefield 3/4, CoD, Spec Ops: The Line, etc. etc. Personally, I couldn't consider blue switches as I've heard them and they seem too noisy for me. Something I have to take into consideration with any keyboard purchase as, I like to work at night.
