Thanks for posting OP but are you aware the permissions include the ability for the app developer to:

Contacts - Read your contacts

Storage - Read, modify and delete the contents of your usb storage

Is that normal ... necessary!?

This kinda apps are normally free, don’t know what a pro can provide more...

Fair points that, this claims to be the fastest QR Scanner ever though, lol - whether there's valid proof in that statement of theirs, I obviously can't tell you (but the way I see it, there has to be something in there to justify the 'PRO' bit right?).

Anyways, that aside, iPhone's are the best part £1000+ though, right?.

IF, for mortgage payment amounts phone, you're not able to get (at the very least), a half decent QR Scanner/Reader on it?, then ...

(To say I'd be mildly worried, would be an understatement).

After all, phone's like the newer 'upstarts' like Huawei, Xiaomi, and OnePlus, make some of the best Android phone's on the Planet, but their asking price amounts, don't even reach cheaper rental price amounts (in comparison).

So your comparison (though being quite sound), isn't quite a true like for like thing, is it? (be it OS wise, and/or cost wise, etc?), lol.

But thanx for the input anyway. :-)

Thanx, and you're welcome.

But, you know what, that's an even more appropriate 'ask', right there, hmmmmmmmmmm.

I think it might be to so with it needing to store stuff's on your phone, or something?.

Outside of those remits, then ...

I don't know why some developer's are tooooo hungry like that though?.
Can someone give me an example of why we would need QR scanner ?

For the Government's healthy eating 'challenge', via those '4Life' TV advertisement's that the Government has been churning out of late?.

I say of late, but it's been at least some 3-4+ Year's now ...

Where via it, the Government has coerced the good player's in the Industry to put certain additional useful info embedded within the products barcode, etc, now.

Thing's like how much sugar content is really in that no sugar fizzy pop drink you luvvvvvvvvv so much.

That's just one example.

Another example is this too, you see a 4 pack pack of Snicker's at Tesco's for £1.50, you scan it's QR Code, and guess what?, some QR Reader's will now be able to INSTANTLY tell you that that very same Snicker's 4 pack can rather be bought at Sainsbury's for ONLY £1 there, or whatever?.

(And/or visa-versa, etc?). :-)
Just tried it out of curiosity. Scans qr codes really fast, but for some reason doesn't work on regular bar codes on my phone... wierd.

Sorry to hear that, but j fortunately, not everyone's everything is the same?.

Eg. (Animal Kingdom analogies now), when you see a Puma, is it a Puma?, or is it a Jaguar?.

When you see a Cheetah, is it a Cheetah?, or is it a Leopard?.

Are they one of the same?, or ...

They're blatantly the same beast, yes, but are they actually the same animal too though?.

All I can do you explain it not working for you is this, not every phone is built the same (again), eg. much as I luvvvvvvvvv my Xiaomi's now, lol, on some of them, the camera's on their phone's can leave a wee bit to be desired.

That's NOT to say that that's across the board though, as some genuinely couldn't care less either way, so for such people is a minor (happy day's, lol).

While others, simply got it for it's lightning fast response times instead (again, happy day's).

While others too, rather fronted for one of the notably more expensive Xiaomi phone's, where it's camera is wayyyyyy up there with the best of them anyway?.

While others again too, well ...

Simply put, certain (at some point or another), is going to have certain niggles attributed to itz or whatever? (unfortunately?).

But though, there is an 'option' still?, lol.

Try this one:

Hehehehehehe, good for you. :-D

But saying that (on the basis of your above earlier comment and all), and blah blah blah, lol:

Yep, I apparently have one also. :-D

(Who knew?, lol).

And the fact that I wasn't AWARE of it, clearly means that I've blatantly never bothered to use such 'stuffs' on my phone yet, hehehehehehe.

So yeh, this could get interesting, I'll check it out and find out what it does later, etc. :-)

Depends purely upon what version of Android you have basically?, and/or how old your phone is as well, etc?.

Eg. my old/former Lenovo P2 phone, which I had for more than 2 Year's straight, ONLY had Android 6.0 on it (which to be honest with you, was more than fine for the purposes for what/how I used it ar the time, or whatever?).

But it sadly would NOT go beyond Android 6.0 - a wee bit of lack of OS support, and what have you's (as is sometimes inherent with certain/some phone manufacturers after they've palmed you off with their goods, etc, etc, lol).

Anyways, Android 6.0 had in built CASTING capabilities (happy day's), which former Android 5.0 phone's I had, did NOT ...

Hence my initial above comment to you in the first place, etc?.

Your phone, and/or Android version is the 'key' basically?.

Similar in principle to the 'theme' of some of my other earlier comments too really. :-)

Not every animal is built the same.

And not every beast is built the same either.

Etc etc etc ...

(Trial and error I guess?). :-)

Slightly strange that the developers seem to have prevented tablets from downloading/installing this app from the Play Store. Yes, you're probably not going to use a tablet to scan a bardcode/QR code, but technically there's nothing stopping you (almost every tablet out there has a rear camera, including my two tablets that it refused to install on).

Interesting that, that's a valid point you raised there, thanx for that input, as it'll potentially help others also.
Is there any good free one for the iPhone

QR & Barcodes often contain personal info on address labels, billing/invoice documents.. etc.
Very useful & quick app to tell you if some part of page/label needs only recycling rather than shredding first.
Instant hook to internet for info on QR coded item in shops, museums or anywhere else.
I use this a lot.

Oh, my bad, that's where I should have rather been looking at, lol.

Mind's the Note 6 Pro, and in the camera settings I get this:
38298261-rEgPa.jpg
My Device watermark is set to on automatically - I was wondering where the setting to toggle that on or off was? (clearly I haven't played about with my phone enough, hehehe - but by the look's of it, you have).

I learned at least something this early morn', so that something at least?. :-)

Edit:

Be wiery/cautious of location mode set to on though ...

Unless of course you don't mind your phone tracking you everyyyyyywhere?.

Because (in general), once your location is at to 'on', it's not just your camera that knows where you are, etc, etc? (unless of course such thing's don't bother you either way, or whatever?). :-)
