First post so don't shoot me!

argos.co.uk/sta…me=

I bought this a week ago to destroy a massive hedge that had become diseased. I was surprised at how powerful it was (I have read that cordelss trimmers are often quite puny), and the length of the battery life (I was hacking at it a good hour, and it didn't run out). Cordless is really useful as you can't inadvertently slice the cable in half (like I have done with my lawnmowever).

It's available online too, but why pay the fiver delivery?

•51cm blade length.
•1.4cm tooth gap.
•Dual action blade.
•Cordless.
•3-5 hour charge time.
•40 minute running time.
•Dual safety switch.
•Safety guard.
•Electronic brake.
•Can cut branches up to 1.4cm in diameter.
•Weight 2.4kg.
•Manufacturers 2 years guarantee.

Pretty inevitable really if you was using a mower to cut your hedge down.

On a more serious note, this seems like a very good deal so welcome to hukd

Hard to put a true value on this as it's another Argos/Homebase exclusive. In fact it doesn't even appear to be made by Qualcast.

If the battery really is Ni-Cad then I wouldn't expect it to last too long & I expect that it's excluded from the warranty. May be helpful if the OP can verify.

True the battery wont last long, and it can blow the charger, the latter happened to me. No spares available from dealer. Batteries do turn up in Ebay, as for the charger they are not easy to find if you find one at all, my advice don't buy.
