Was £59.99 then £49.99 & now £39.99, excellent reviews across the net. I bought one of these last year when it was previously on offer & it does a great job (obviously the person wielding it has to be fairly good too, I like to think I am, at my age my leg hair is akin to fast growing pampas grass & after a long winter under cover I have had plenty of practice the last few years).
The Qualcast 18V Cordless Grass Trimmer has an in-line edging function with wheel for accurate and convenient edging of borders. It has a soft grip with a quick adjustable handle, providing extra comfort and balance. With cable management, you won't have to deal with tangled wires.

Not the qualcast most will remember, Argos licence the name and make the products themselves. Not saying a bad product just a good thing to know.

I bought a 36v qualcast hedge trimmer last year and have been very impressed with it. Pity the 36v line trimmer isn't on offer but this is a great price for the 18v line trimmer if it is any good (i had an 18v bosch hedge trimmer and it was awful but that was nicad silly mistake)

Nice to know argos own the brand. I know homebase is part of their group too.

Good deal op.

Homebase isn't part of the group anymore, homebase was sold to Bunnings an Aussie company. Homebase as a brand will be gone in the next 5 years or so and will change over to a more competitive retailer as Bunnings. Argos and Habitat brands are in the process of being bought by Sainsbury's and the sale will be complete by the end of quarter three of 2016.

I always remember the "string" on these breaking every couple of minutes. Regardless of the brand.

Hot for price but I really dont want to spend every 2 minutes switching it off & extending the string

Had one for 2 years. It's great. Last me around 25 mins, easy to hold with its adjustable handle. Still on the first spool of line with very few breakages. Really like the edge trimming function too.

Been after a replacement for my old one, which was woeful. Good find OP - nice to have one with auto-feed as well so no need to manually unwind for any breakages !

Cheers OP. Im sick of having to daisy chain 3 extensions to get to the bottom of my garden with the strimmer! Ordered one of these.. You get an extra £1 off if you pay up front as well. so £38.99

Buy a Honda 4 stroke then.

Bought one last year. Can thoroughly recommend for general tidying up. I've got a Honda 4 Stroke too, smugjojo - but that's overkill for small jobs.

Bought one last year, used almost exclusively as an edging tool and very pleased with it. Anxious to see what the battery life is like and whether replacements will then be available. I guess at this price I could throw out and buy again when it fails but I hate such waste.

As owner of this (summer 2015, can't remember how much) - absolutely delighted. Can't comment about total running time but we have reasonably large plot (petrol lawnmower size) front and back and it is still going when finished, a lot of the time just pick and go next time without charging - Li-ion battery helps.
Reasonably light when using, edge trimmer really good but read the instructions, missus thought it was a waste of money until reading - she is the gardener!! Line so far been fine, think I have had to rewind once since bought so autofeed seems to be working ok and so far not used second line which is already there and waiting out of the box (actually on body).
If this is the same model which I believe it is - only has one line coming out of head - not 2 at 180degrees to each other, quite frankly as long as it works, which it does little bit less to go wrong.
Handle is extendable out of the box works fine for me (5’9”) but can be extended if required if you are bit taller.
Not having cords – I wish I had bought one before.
Hope helps?

Got one in Bangor Flagship, one left. Appears to be a robust little strimmer

I got this couple of days ago, I've got to say one of the best things I have ever brought. Think I'm getting old if this amazes me!!

Back to £59.99? :o(

It's 59.99 today (17.5.16)
