No, it's cordless........
It obviously has a power input to charge.
So if you have run out of charge it won't work whilst plugged in and charging? - (Like a laptop does)

Cordless only. Battery has to be removed to slot into charger. But it's a great machine - I cut grass for several people and it always lasts. Li-ion battery so around 30 - 40 mins run time. Trust me it is the best value for money domestic strimmer you'll find. And unusually for Argos, a 2 year guarantee too
looks hot to me. thanks op.
Thanks OP. Just ordered as replacement for my noisy petrol one.
Very effective tool, without cord to muck about with it halves time spent on edging.:p
Thanks for posting.
I have one of these, would highly recommend it
Picked one up his last time it was on sale and very pleased with it.
how do you pick up the grass (bin bags)
Cheers, got one.
just bought one for delivery 7am-10am tomorrow thanks OP
Got this its bang on get around 20 mins out of battery..... lasts ages if ya just trimming the grass edges if ya using this to cut down long grass forget it

You can use your mouth but I'd definitely say that your hands will be both easier and less messy!!
Excellent bit of kit. I've had one for over a year and it works brilliantly. Shares same battery with my Qualcast cordless hedge trimmer too! It may be an Argos own brand these days (or will Homebase/Bunnings take it?) but it's good stuff.
Bought one last year too and think it's excellent.
Saw it in Homebase (Huntingdon) today for the same price.

rake it.
but if you're strimming an area of meadow grass/flowers in the garden after blossoming, leave the cuttings for a few days before you collect them for the compost.
Just reserved for collection thanks
Got something very similar £18 on ebay (don't appear to be available anymore).

So nice just carrying it round to front garden without messing with cord. Lasts about 3 cuts for me but I charge it before every other cut.
Best not to store lithium batteries completely full or empty.
What's it like to change/renew the cord?
I got this last time was on at this price .. It's fab I get 20 mins of quality edging

Not sure that's true - but I understand it's a bad idea to leave them in the shed over winter where they'll get very cold. Anyone know the real science?
Just been trying to track down a source of spare/replacement batteries but failing. Qualcast themselves (or at least spares agent for this brand) don't list. Maybe I'll just have to buy another machine at this price but seems such a waste.
Has anyone had any success refilling the line cassette with bulk line? Should be easy but haven't put it to the test yet.
Bought this last week at the same price. Very happy with it. Cuts easily and batteries lasts a good amount of time.

Agreed don't keep in the shed.

Best state of charge to store is 40%. You certainly don't want to store it too low or the cells may dip below 2v and be ruined. Storing at 100% isn't the best for the battery but not as bad as too low.

Bought a Worx version from Wickes for the same price recently. 20v lithium battery and 3 year warranty if that makes a difference for anyone not to mention using the battery on other Worx tools if you have any.
Seems like a great trimmer, but it can't be a bargain when homebase also do it for the same price:-

Eh? Please explain. Argos and Homebase had the same owner (Home Retail Group) until a few weeks back when Sainsbury's bought Argos and Bunnings (Australian) bought Homebase. Qualcast brand belonged to HRG. You'll find there is still plenty of stock in common. What's your issue?

Price now increased to £44.99 at Argos - but still £39.99 at homebase.

OIC! I didn't know that both have the same owner...that explains why one of Argos branches is based within homebase.

Had not have. Still don't understand your comment but irrelevant now anyway as price has gone up in Argos, as mentioned earlier.
