Looks ok, beware that HRG (homebase, argos) seem to have rights to use qualcast name for certain products, these may be manufactured to different quality, only saying, it is possible to google it, but I don't have time just now.

This any good for the wife?

Yes you can cut her bush with this and the battery lasts a long time.

Hot price and very timely thanks.

Anyone got one? Tempted.....

What battery comes with this? There is another at homebase that comes with a leaf blower for £49.99 but am a bit suspect of the quality:

The review of the trimmer you linked to is mixed, however it is also a 45cm blade which suggests it *might* be a different item.

The OPs item at Argos has a blade length of 51cm.

Mine has arrived this morning and I shall be trying it out tonight. I shall report back. If it is rubbish then I will be taking it back to Argos for a refund and half my hedge clippings (if I get that far).

Yeah, different model. Its shorter but has a bigger tooth gap, but also states a 1 hour charger whereas this one is 3-5 hours. I'd be tempted to pay more just for the better charger, not sure I'd use the blower!

Grabbed the one from this deal, will test it later as well and likewise it'll go back tomorrow if no good.

Says that it required 6 hours to charge, so I will test it out tonight.
Update:
So having used it, I can say that it is (obviously) not as powerful as our 550W electric trimmer, but it is quieter. The gaps between the blades are narrower but it still does a decent job at shaving back the hedge, but some areas I had to go over twice due to thick growth. A real bonus is the light weight of the unit, which makes using it a real pleasure and easy to wield it like an imaginary light sabre.
Overall I am happy with the purchase and would recommend it for the price, but not at full price.
