Good deal as far as larger size atm, and tinned. May not be the best deal if buying for yourselves, in comparison to tubs, but IMO much nicer as a gift. And for the eco warriors, who hate to add more plastic waste to the environment. I'm' prepared for ice, on this one, but you never know. 😄

Tesco offer is better than this...650g + 650g = 1.3 Kg for the same price £7.

Its a metal tin... Not plastic

I can see that. Reminds me of my childhood when the tins were big enough to last the entire Xmas break!

Good deal for the price. I don't think there's a big plastics issue with tubs like these, since there's some reusability versus a crisp packet for one...

Yes, that's exactly what I was pointing out. For that very reason, this deal is probably best suited if you want to give as a gift, as opposed to own consumption. Most wil know, that although you're buying a larger volume, the tinned ones always come at a premium, nevertheless they seem to sell. And as the larger size (1kg tin) goes, this is a good deal.

Some people just want the chocolate and as far as the chocolate is concerned, they are right!

Absolutely! And it's precisely why I pointed that out in the post, and also as to whom this deal was aimed at.
Looks like Quality Street now wears its famous purple colour, with PRIDE.

Do any of the metal tins tend to get reduced any further pre xmas, does anyone remember what happened last year?

Looking back on posted, this seems the best price this side of Xmas Some showed 2018, a slightly bigger size tin for £7.50, but as we know they shrink the contents on a regular basis.
Ooh nice tin. I prefer the smell from a tin than the plastic tubs, reminds me of my childhood Christmases 😁

Also the glass jars were used to soak fruit for Xmas cake.
