not really half price - even a muppet would struggle to pay more than a fiver.

These tins are heavier than celebrations.

I couldnt find a post, apologies if its a duplicate.

this is Tesco, the one I posted was Sainsbury's

these tins are such a racket. They used to be 2kg for £10, the reduce them to less than 1kg and advertise them at £5 saying they're half price!
Does anyone fall for this bullsh*t????

Still a sweet offer tho???

You do know the reason they weigh less is the tins are smaller and thinner to help save on steel right?

I don't know about before but they only weighed 1.2Kg in 2008 then they reduced the amount of steel in the tin that's where the weight reduction comes from!

Oh and I was interested to read that the twist wrappers the chocs come in are also compostable - surprising!

It will be interesting to see if the £1 voucher comes off these, as in my 'Big Price Drop', the voucher is specifically for Celebrations. If it works on these, I'll take plenty at £2.99 a pop, even though the other varities are better sweets.

First person to report back gets the first pick when I open the tin.

Sweet!

So that's why they were 10 pounds yesterday - I was wondering whether Tesco was expecting to sell any at that price.

Just got one of these bad boys for £2.70! Staff discount voucher for £1 off Quality Street + 10% staff discount

Been to our local Tecso Extra this morning and were piled high selling for £10.

yep £10 in my local super store yesterday!

They advertise them at £10 for 1 or 2 days knowing that nobody will buy them just so that they can then say they are less than half price a few days later. It is to satisfy the law on sale items.

Tins of sweets same price (£3.99) in sainsbury's if it help anyone

You are joking right! Surely you realise the weight is of the sweets only and not the packaging. They have indeed kept the same price but reduced the amount of sweets. I found an old tin from 2004 which contained 1.7kg. Every year they have reduced the amount of sweets. SoonWon't be any sweets in it. won't from 2004

got one tonight. so bad for my diet. nom nom.
