Yep...that's been the target.

But, with the sizes and varieties reducing, I've been thinking of moving the goalposts to 2 for £6.50!!!

Trainer Sock fillers!

The price has reduced with the size, so don't panic everyone. Allowing for inflation, these are 80% cheaper than they were in the 80s, and only about 70% smaller.
£4 for 750g of chocolates/sweets is pretty good.

In store too

Use an inflation calculator and £23-£24 is exactly what they were.

Sorry about initial typo. Phone went a bit haywire.

Cracking Christmas advert from 1981

Wake up you dozy heat givers !!!!!!!!!
The supermarkets have been shifting this size of tin/bin at between £4 and £5 but at the same time reducing the weight. Less than 5 years ago it was 1.1kg.....then about 950g......last year the high 800s....and now it's 780g
And you're voting Hot. Why?

In the 80's these were made with real Chocolate, now they use mainly flavoured Vegetable Oil

They also have roses, celebrations and hero all £4 a box

See above.... They're still relatively cheaper than they've ever been. Hence why people are voting hot.

I checked an old post - the weight has dropped from 1.1kg to 780g and same price.......does that beat inflation ?
It's not just chocs. Have a look at Tesco cheese. Was 500g about a year ago, now 400g.

Lots of cheese now down to 320g and unsuspecting fools sucking it in, just like one week it is 2 for £4 and the next week it is £4.29 for one.

I actually have some old tins and they were useful to keep stuff in. The new ones are too small !

Maybe he meant vegetable fat and not oil?
Vegetable fat is produced from palm trees grown in massive plantations worldwide. It is used instead of some cocoa butter in nearly all chocolate, because it has an almost identical texture to cocoa butter but it goes rancid more slowly. However unlike cocoa butter vegetable fat has no real flavour or aroma, so the chocolate won't taste as nice as it could.

I want to buy a 20 ft container Quality Street chocolates Is available
