Costco Bristol are selling a twin pack of Queen bee Manuka Honey UMF 12+ for £7.99. This quality honey usual retails for £9.99 for one jar in other retailers so £7.99 for two is better than half price!

What's the big deal with this 'Manuka' honey?

These can be had BOGOF or half price in holland and barrat as well.

But they are not the 12+ ones, only 5. I love costco. been paying for my membership for 3 years now

It puts a sting in your tail! lol

This honey is delicious - the whole family loves it. It has the consistency of fudge. Great value even without the discount - I won't buy my honey anywhere else

Thanks guys. Just found this too on the BBC:

The honey is rigorously tested three times during production for that … The honey is rigorously tested three times during production for that elusive unique manuka factor; only then can it carry the label "UMF manuka honey"."It just seems that manuka from a few areas within New Zealand produces a nectar that has this special property," said Bill Bennett. "There is a lot of manuka honey out there that doesn't have this special property. That's why it's so important to look for the name UMF."

So anyone know if this one has UMF and/or the Holland & Barrat one?

Thanks bristol but now I'm even more confused! I assume therefore that there are differing strengths of UMF yes? If so, what's the best strength to get?

Depends if you're using it to treat something or just looking to pick up your immune system a bit.

12+ and 15+ are perfectly good for every day use.

Do you get nectar points?

very good price, too late for me just bought 6 at Makro @ £6 each.

Thank you guys.

this is not umf manuka so doesn't have the healing benefits of real manuka. Search manuka on google and you will see two types, you want to buy the UMF manuka or Non Peroxide manuka the stuff with healing benefit.

I purchased this today from Costco Gateshead. It states on the label: Certified 12+ Active. This is the same one at Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0055CP0SK/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=103612307&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B006DI6EIU&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=1WM8HEMGEAN3A152PN7T

As you may have gathered from my posts above, I'm no expert and have no idea what the 'Certified 12+ Active' actually means. What I will say is neither my wife nor my son are impressed with the taste... looks like yours truly is gonna be the honey monster for a while in this house!

12+ twin pack is back at Costco £7.79 (no Vat) until Nov 25th 2012
