ta:thumbsup:

is the motherboard on this PC compatible with a ATI RX1950 Crossfire Graphics card?

Cheers in advance

Do these use the same motherboard as the E520 series?

great deal but also allow for a DVD writer upgrade as most will want to burn DVDs.

Not having had a Dell desktop before i am guessing that you can just remove the drive that comes with it and install your own DVD recorder? I know compaq used to make it very difficult with their own fittngs.

Just bear in mind that all the Dell opticals are now Sata. Not had one of these to play with so cant say how easy to fit but if they use the normal dell means its simple.

go via quidco and select the deal manually via dell for £293.73 ( minus pos quidco!! )

So that's not going to take my ide dvd recorder then :-(

If you find out what motherboards are in these, then they might have an IDE interface (for legacy use) to which you might be able to attach you DVD writer...

It was a rhetorical question. I will upgrade to a sata DVD recorder, but thanks anyway, I will look and see.

how do i remove the monitor? all i can see are options to change it, but not take it off completely.

This deal doesnt have a monitor unless you spec one.

but i can't see anywhere to 'build' a machine that doesn't have a monitor included, am i just being thick?

maybe i'm a bit thick but surely all you techie whizzkids on here already have high spec computers so why are all these dell offers so interesting? lol !

Yes ;-) Welcome to the forums

Click the "go to deal" in my original post and the dell page you get to has no monitor set as the default.

Anyone know if these Dells have a sufficient power supply to power bigger graphics cards - e.g. nVidia 8800 ?

got my spec to 178..

Very tempting, I brought the deal a few months ago to replace my failing PC.

I have a old XP media center that is always on and recording, this would replace that to a nice vista one.....

Unsure.. Tempting..

Wondering of the CPU to duo will make much difference?

Shame it is not one of the smaller ones (My Media PC sits on the top of the kitchen cupboard) Is it the 531 or 521 I should be looking at??
