Here's a link to past deals:

They seem to get alot of attention under £40.
Can't find anywhere cheaper at the moment with stock.

Purely because past deals have got so hot and stock gone quickly.
Two weeks ago these reached over 700 degrees and were more expensive.

I would rather spend the extra and buy with amazon than deal with these clowns.
Just like PC world and currys.

I bought a expensive gift for the wife about 3 x-mas's ago, and they called, and said bla bla bla your order which is.... And told my wife everything and never even asked to speak to me. will never shop with them again

It must be because of you that the confirmation email states "you will receive a phone call to confirm where to go when you arrive in store".

Just out of curiosity, does your wife answer your mobile phone or did you go and give Comet your home phone number?

Not saying Comet have a good customer service but surely it's not their fault for trying to keep you informed - something other companies fail to do. How were they to know a) it was a gift and b) they were talking to the person who the gift was for?

brilliant speakers. I bought them about 2 weeks ago when they where for £35. very powerful sub, on minimum settings my wife complains a lot.

My wife complains alot.
Speakers are good though.

the basssss is good but in all seriousness best 5.1 you'll get for £40.

I have the 2.1 version. They're such good speakers. The only criticism could be the heavy bass, but it's honestly not that bad; it's nice on the lowest setting.

Giving order details to the person that didnt order it is a big big big no , whats to stop them phonin up some random person, giving them all your details and the other person changing the order for ex, a £400 tv to a different £1000 tv just for a giggle.

Probably if your TV has a headphone jack. Just get a 3.5mm jack - red/white audio cable.

Cold, because OP began the title with "Quick!!!".

The price is even that good, as the second reply points out.

Will these work on a TV to give 5.1 sound

Banned

These use three 3.5mm jacks so you can only really use them on a PC that supports 5.1. That means no TV or console support I'm afraid people.

Out of interest, how come it's 3? Shouldn't it be 4? Sub/Centre/Front/Rears?

guys if you connect this up to a ps3 using the adapter (that comes with it, if im correct?) do ALL the speakers work or only some..?

Is it possible for the sub to be turned completely down/off? For some reason most sets don't have this option, which is pretty annoying!

The sub shares a a connection with the front two speakers, thats why a standard 2.1 speaker set only uses one 3.5mm jack.

Only the front two and the bass will. It mentions it in one of the review on the comet website.

With reserve and collect you don't pay upfront. They only ring to confirm your order is ready, but more than likely to make sure you still want it, so they don't waste time picking stock.

If you aren't picking them up from store then it's cheaper on Amazon with free postage

For those asking if it works on a TV, it does and it's worth it. While you don't get true 5.1 you do get the surround sound and it really is wonderful to watch a movie with these speakers - dwell in the horrendous weather of Shutter Island, appreciate Daft Punk's score in Tron: Legacy without it overwhelming the dialogue, be surrounded by bullets and hear screeching tires close in on you through an action movie, these speakers have been fantastic thus far. You do need a 3.5mm to RCA cable though to connect to the videogame adapter (the product description says it doesn't come with one but mine did as did those bought by others as shown on these threads). And I would recommend extension cables for the rear speakers.

P.S. For those wondering where to place their speakers for optimal sound, I highly recommend this site: dolby.com/us/…tml and would like to add that rear speakers should be positioned from ear level when standing.

I can't see these speakers being worth more than £40.00. Their nothing special. The price seems just about right.

Yeah apologies for that. Only did it because someone posted a deal for a 42" LED TV from M&S for £230 which i benefited from and they started their title with "Bargain!!!" which alerted me quicker than usual.
I presume you meant price ' isn't ' even that good? People who have been following the deals on these speakers will realise that the price 'is' that good considering how quickly it goes out of stock.
I personally haven't seen it this cheap apart from the blemished box deal which was only a few quid cheaper than this.
I'm not currently aware of this deal cheaper anywhere else unless you can shed some light?

Hi, I recently bought an onkyo home cinema from a deal on here. I have also bought an HDMI cable. Will I need to buy anything else as this is a Christmas present and it will be a shame if he can't set it up on the day.

Thank you for any advice.

I don't know the info about the Onkyo home cinema however I believe you have everything - the HDMI cable will ensure you have optimal output on your system and since it's a home cinema system the recipient of the gift will have everything to enjoy their entertainment from an audio and visual standpoint. All that's left is to pick the movies (or music) for a fantastic Christmas!

You definitely do have everything for it to be set up on the day so don't worry, Christmas will not be ruined.

The service I've received from Comet has always been excellent.

Thank you for your reply and advice, Reignited. Much appreciated. X

Would you recommend these for an Xbox 360?

Banned

Reignited could you please explain to me how these do 5.1 surrond sound when plugged into a PS3 or a TV or a Onkyo home cinema? As far as I'm aware, even with a phono converter, it would not do surround sound?
