At least the price is closer to meat. If companies want more people to buy …At least the price is closer to meat. If companies want more people to buy it, how about making it cheaper than meat?Goes for many of these vege/vegan things, a lot of it is more expensive, just look at the price of milk alternatives. Many people get it because they are allergic, but if the want more people not drinking milk need to make it cheaper.

I think the expensive price of quorn is not necessarily the real problem. Although I would of course welcome it.
The way meat is made to be so cheap is the problem.
If meat was reared the way the average person thought it was, that meat would be 2 or 3 times more expensive.
Nowadays there is no farmer Jones, even the way milk is made is heartbreaking for the animals and not economically viable for farmers.
This isn't a rant from a vegan it's about being respectful to the farmers, the animals and the environment even if you are a meat eater.

It can taste half decent if you fry the absolute arse out of it. It will only taste of what you add to it, so keep adding oregano and maybe caramelised balsamic and pepper to make a mince for an Italian.
keep the heat on as hot as you can for a good 10mins from memory. You need to try and brown it as best you can , it will spit like crazy too.
i remember working in a factory where we made quorn meals etc. Whenever we had to taste test they always told us it makes the texture better if you burn it, but the supermarkets etc just didn't like it that way.

It's 500g not 350g so even better

wow that is a good deal... thanks
Anyone else use supermarkets own mince?

For anyone interested Quorn uses their own creation called mycoprotein a protein derived from fungi while others like supermarkets own meat free mince is soya protein.

Heat added anyway but you need to change it, 500g for £1.39 not 350g.

Morrisons have the 300g packs for £1 (a little more than 500g for £1.39 at Tesco) along with many other £1 Quorn products.
