Thought I would switch out my regular beef mince and have the Quorn mince in my chilli last night for a change, unfortunately it tasted bland (and the rest of the ingredients were exactly the same as usual). I've used Frys mince before and it tasted very good so I will stick with that in future when I want to cut down on the red meat.

I tend to mix this half-and-half with soya mince - the soya mince gives it a bit of flavour. I use it for making Cottage Pie & Lasagne.

I will give that a try next time then, thanks.

Tesco's one is good (frozen). they're doing 3 for £4 on all their frozen Vegetarian foods. Their soya burgers are really good!

I have tried loads and I really like Fry's so I will probably stick with them, but thanks for letting me know and when I do go in Tesco I might have to give their items a try. I'm not a vegetarian but have to say Fry's products really do make it easy for a meat eater to cut a bit out once in a while!
I only buy when it’s on offer - 10 bags at a time!

I get it from Ocado, they always have offers on though. Such a 5 Frys items for a tenner. It's such nice stuff, especially the fake chicken escalopes!
I find to get flavour in there you really need to fry it at a hot temperature until it browns a bit. It also gives it a nicer texture. It will pop and spit but persevere with it.
I prefer supermarkets own soy mince over quorn which is made from some scary lab grown mould?

Gotta give credit to Quorn they do have a great range of products and some of it is better than supermarkets stuff but I don't rate the mince that highly.

I cant tell a product is Quorn it has that odd smell to it. Though the soy stuff has a distinct smell too it doesn't bother me like Quorn.
Got nothing against most Quorn products, but this stuff is no substitute at all. It's tasteless and soggy when cooked. Yum!
I wouldn't touch this stuff, it was developed by ICI and is grown in vats.

Some people have bad allergic reactions to it as well.

Just have real vegetables and mushroom instead of meat.
