Hi @laura7piano. I must admit there are a confu amount of ingredients in some of the vegan products on the market. As someone who has experience in this field I wondered if you wouldn't mind letting me know what the bad bits are in this particular product please?

Ingredients
Rice Flakes (Rice, Emulsifier: Sodium Alginate), Wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Calcium Carbonate, Iron, Niacin, Thiamine), Water, Mycoprotein (10%), Vegetable Oils (Sunflower, Rapeseed), Natural Flavouring, Rice Flour, Maize Flour, Wheat Starch, Malt Vinegar Powder (0.7%) (Barley), Thickener: Methyl Cellulose, Wheat Dextrose, Sea Salt (0.28%), Salt, Citric Acid, Sugar, Yeast Extract, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Black Pepper

Many thanks in advance

Fishless fillets lol. Stick to the carrots.

You seem to enjoy doing this on a lot of veggie/vegan deals. You must have a lot of spare time to waste

Maybe reassess your priorities!

It's amazing how triggered some non-vegans get over something that doesn't affect them one single bit......
And they call vegans snowflakes!

There can be rubbish in any processed foods, not just vegan ones

Horrific

Good find, never seen these under £2

These are nicer than the fishfinger style ones that Quorn also do (which I think aren't that nice), but nowhere near as tasty as the Vivera vegan "fish" burgers and fillets.

They are incredible! The lemon and pepper ones are great too
These are delicious

These are really nice! They’re also this price at Morrison’s.

The more vegan protein food the better, it’s just a shame all the fake meat/fish stuff cost so much, most people would rather get the real thing at the same price.

It doesn't though. There's always offers on for multiple products, just pick them out like you would non-vegan product offers.

+1
It’s the amount of thickeners and the emulsifiers in them, it turns into a white gunky powder. With natural products like meat, vegetables etc this isn’t the case as they are natural and you can physically see that they are natural during testing process. These are really artificial. I’ve been put off sausages due to working in this industry.

... and if it isn't fish(or indeed the product of any animal), is it still a fillet?

"Slab of battered mycoprotein" certainly has me salivating!

Hi again @laura7piano, thank you for your response.

I wonder if you could reiterate your findings to me please?

Please don't be offended but I was hoping for something a bit more scientific.

Thanks again,
