The Rab Latok Alpine jacket uses 3-layer eVent face fabric to provide unparalleled levels of waterproofing and breathability, and to ensure maximum warmth, comfort and dryness for every alpine ascent. The fully protective hood is helmet compatible and wired to stop movement during storms, while the water resistant front zip has an internal storm flap. It has two outer map-sized pockets with water resistant zips and two zipped inner pockets, both of which give you a safe, dry storage point for any essentials.
# GLOSSARY - eVENT 3-layer fabric: Rather than absorbing moisture and saturating the inside of the shell by wicking, it allows perspiration to dissipate and vent.

This post is for a Rab Men's Latok Alpine Waterproof Jacket not GoOutdoors in general.

Very good deal for a very good jacket. They do usually retail about £180. I got mine about 2 years ago now. I'd also recommend going to the Rab Factory outlet in Alfreton if you live close.

I managed to get one of these (slightly older, different design) for about £78 from Go Outdoors a few years back when it was heavily discounted. I was initially amazed by it but have to be honest, it needed reproofing after a couple of years of not very intense use. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Rab (bought a Rab Xenon from the Outdoors Shop in Hathersage just yesterday) and maybe I was just unlucky but I expected more from it. Everyone I mention it to has said they've never had to reproof a Rab so might just be me. Can't say I've really had to put it through it's paces since reproofing it but seems to be fine again.

Reproofing shouldn't be too much of a problem though. From what I've read, eVent clogs up more easy than Goretex and will need reproofing more often. I've had to do mine a couple of times to be honest.

i have the rab bergen, the more you wash the better it gets. (supposedly)
keeps me bone dry, great jacket.
