If like me you have left the car parked for a while (living in London so don't need it very often) then it is likely that the battery might go flat.

So I was looking around at some portable jump start kits. Low and behold, this little puupy came into offer.

Compact and lightweight for easy 12V jump starter suitable for cars with engines up to 1500 cc.

At under £20 this was ideal for dealing with bringing my car back to life just when I need it most!!

It does not come with a built in air compressor like the ones on offer at Maplins, but there are two 12V sockets on top to add your own air compressor, which in my case is a better quality one than the ones built into the Maplins offerrings.

Its very well built and does the job it was intended.

about the normal price. I have a maplin one I've had for years although the battery is weak now. I used it for about 3 months every morning as I was too tight to buy a new battery and it kept going flat overnight! That was on a 1.8 litre car too

I bought the Maplins one as well, the yellow box. 2 went straight back as they did not work. the other was great for about a month, then got gradually worse. Eventually stopped working as the battery did no longer charge. Returned.

Read some old reviews on the Argos website before I bought this one.

Only had it a few days, but worked straight out of the box. The buuild quality is better than the ones from Maplins. Suspected as it is endorsed by the RAC, that to be the case.
I set fire to my boot with a jump starter pack. A word to the wise, secure the clips carefully and don't chuck the newspaper recycling in next to it!

I think at £20 that's pretty good value. Hot for me.
