blimey! 6.5L is huge. Wish I'd gone for this over the 3.5L £10 one from currys. Still, it works very well for 2-3 people but I do prefer to make meals in bulk

decent book here too and even better if you have any spare zavvi vouchers (cost me £1.75 delivered)

^^ Thanks for the link

great link, thank you.

we are a familly of 4 and I can't decide if 6.5 or 3.5 ltr would be best?

Owens101 - Get the 6.5l one, it's better to have room to spare than not enough.
Slow cookers are great, shove in the lamp chops, onions and potatoes, greeeeeeeat !!!!

thanks, think I will give it a go ;-)
tempted to pay another ten and have the nicer looking morphy michards chrome one though, actually its oos now

just reserved this one, thanks op. now just need the ice to melt so I can get it! lol

i got this one when it was £15, it was mahooosive so gave back and got the 3.5lt from Tesco for £10 looks better like a brushed stainless steel finish

Thanks - for the picture of Rachael.

"Gahrgeous!"

Whats you favourite recipies? Good deal if you haven't one already.

Hot deal. I couldn't decide over the 6.5l or 3.5l either last week. Morphy Richards 6.5l was reduced at Argos to £19.99 from £49.99 but I ended up getting a 3.5l black Crock Pot in the end from Comet (£14.99 from £39.99). The pot is massive on this one and it 's oven proof. They weren't in the store but you could click and reserve. Made up with mine. We're a family of 3 adults and like our casseroles. I made a casserole yesterday and there was still enough left for another 3 meals. I also like to keep it out so it gets used instead of shoving it away - which is what I would have done with the 6.5l had I got one as I don't have much room in my kitchen.

crockpot365.blogspot.com has loads of recipies.
they used it everyday for 1 year straight!

I got this a few months ago on the same deal. It is a fantastic bit of kit and makes MASSIVE stews. So much so that despite the weather we are are all a bit sick of stew but to be fair we havent made much else in it.

The ceramic "pot" comes out and is easy to clean.

By the way we have made some fantastic rice pudding in it.

Go for ot.

Hot! The slow cooker's not bad either! ;-)

I recommended this to a friend when it was on sale previously. He bought it and has four teenage kids and swears by it. He said it has loads of room enough for a whole chicken and veg. Couldnt live without my slow cooker...literally brown your meat and throw in all chopped veg...switch on low and come back at the end of the working day and you can smell the casserole/stew as soon as you come through the door. Fantastic price for anyone wanting a slow cooker. Cant beat them!!!

Thanks, have reserved one, I've been humming and haaring over whether to get one and this is a good enough price to make up my mind for me, some recipes and ideas here for using the slow cooker:

Thanks

I've hummed and hawed for ages as well about getting one of these as we're a family of 8 (4 adults, 2 teenages and 2 under 5 - I know its like the Waltons). I'm in all day to cook anyway so it is worth me getting this? I make a lot of soups, casseroles, slow roasted lamb etc but in the oven as I'm always there. Is it worth it for me? Can anyone let me know?

Out of 10 I'd give her one.

ordered for collection thanks

I think its worth it...you can just forget about it ..wether or not you are there and economically its much cheaper to cook in this than have the oven on all day...unless you have an Aga of course

Thanks gonna have to try the rice pudding.

I've a 6.5 size, don't always fill it up but the small ones were too small. It's on my work top and I use it as a bread bin when not cooking with it

It's not a slow cooker recipe, but Jamie Oliver's Chilli works really well in a slow cooker. Don't use mince just get any beef the supermarket has on offer as when this is cooked for 6-7 hours it comes out amazing. One day I used barbecue steaks that where half price and it was fantastic.

What's the true colour like? It looks a bit naff - would you have to hide it away when not using? I've reserved one but just wondering if steel one would be better - I see Argos have the Morphy Richards 6.5l down to £23.99 from £49.99 - anyone ever used one of these?

The colour is white and the blue is not as bad as it looks in pic, but i keep it in cupboard when not in use, but a bargain at the price.
