Also noticed the mini chopper too for £8.99 argos.co.uk/sta…t=1

Looks good £66 on Amazon.

Anyone got this at home?

2 paddles?

Does it double up as a boat?

Top spot, been in the market for a cheaper breadmaker and this gets great reviews, dare I say as good if not better than the panasonic- especially at this price.
Reserved one to collect! (the last one!)
Have some H&R!

Nice deal meekie, voted hot

Yeah have made plenty of bread and pizza dough in ours, not a bad loaf yet.

Would recommend it and its even cheaper then when I brought it!

Out of stock near me, but just what we've been after for ages now, at the right price. So have some heat from me.

Out of stock in Brum :x. Great price though

Out of stock anywhere near me great price though!

Does anyone know if argos will move products to a closer store for you if its within say 10miles or do you just have to drive out. Next best price is debenhams at £40 BTW

Just reserved one. Happy days. My wife is a ceoliac and I have been looking for a good one of these for a few weeks. Can't wait to try it out.

one reserved at Jarrow (North East) Viking Centre, Byker and Barnsley Peel Street if anyone wants one of the 3 codes

Might also have one for the Metrocentre later today (pick up before close of play tomorrow) if the other half wont let me get it today lol

How selfish...makes my blood boil people doing this.!

You only (at most) want ONE of these, so why stop others getting one by reserving more than you need?

Have looked at every store within a 15 mile radius of my house and also around my parents and can not find one anywhere. Really disappointed as I wanted one for my other half's birthday.
Guess it is great if you can get one.

Out of stock in Carlisle Anyone know what 423/3282 the Cookworks one is like?

Thanks!!!
Reserved one in Camberley, still one left....

Very decent, but this another "In two stores near London but nowhere else" ?
None anywhere near me either.

Utter rubbish! It's just greed in search of brownie points.

What if nobody here wants your codes in the end?...it means 3 people that genuinely want one of these breadmakers in that area falsely can't get one now because of you!

Does nobody think these days before doing things.?

If people want one then they can reserve one themselves via the link provided, they don't need you to hog all the stock by falsely reserving all the codes and stopping genuine people getting one.

I checked the store nearest me and they had one left which I reserved. The store slightly further away had none.
I went in and got it but when the girl took it round to the front the box was all ripped and damaged and I said to the girl at the collection counter "that doesn't look like a new one".
She said "oh it's fine it's just the box that got damaged".

I took it back to the car and opened the box as I live a long drive from the stores and it was a returned item and the inside of the pan hadn't been cleaned properly.

I took it back and spoke to the manager who said it's shouldn't have gone out.

He rang my next nearest store which had said no stock when I checked earlier in the morning but apparently there was one left.

I went to that other store and got it and it seems new so I'm just about to set it up now and see what it's like.

I actually managed to find one, and after a small drive, have just returned home with it. Thanks again to the OP!

edit: BTW, Im no where near London, so this isn't one of those "two in London" jobbies

bought one in Durham today. Got a loaf going in it at the moment

I have not asked for REP once at all in this thread.
If noboby wants the codes, then they will expire tomorrow evening when the item will go back to the "stock list"

What if someone else (not on HUKDs) resevered for themselves - then people on here wouldnt get the chance of one. All I'm doing is trying to help those out that may have not seen the deal as early as others

It's people like you that will ruin the ordering system in argos and they will inevitably have to revert to a Tesco direct type service where you pay and collect.

By reserving 3 on the off chance someone here might grovel to you for the code, you have stopped 3 people obtaining one who definately wanted one and may only get Saturday off work so ordering tomorrow night is no good.

did i ask people to grovel. I was doing those at cant get into HotDeals today a favour but obviously people like you cant see that. either that, or I pinched your idea and now you cant reserve any more

Complain to trading standards as Argos do not really care , it happened to me quite a few times , Argos have been done before over it but they never learn.

I try to avoid Argos as much as i can as they love to give out seconds and palm them of as new , luck of the draw i guess.

Still good offer for this bread maker

eaten nearly half of my first loaf already! makes very nice bread, even for a simple white loaf

Picked up one from Bury St Edmunds today. Looks OK. I had an LG for years and that was good. Currently baking my "standard" wholemeal loaf - a recipe I tweaked for the old LG.... will let you know how it goes.

Many thanks OP. A breadmaker for £28 looks pretty good to me.

Have to agree with earlier criticisms that hogging reservation codes at Argos is just plain stupid. I wish people would think through what they are doing instead of behaving like idiots. I got the last one at a store that was 25 miles from me. Would be pretty p1ssed off if there was one nearer but some clown was hogging the reservation codes.

If someone that wanted one went to the shop and found it out of stock thats fine as its nowt to with us. But, if a HUKDer saw this thread, then they would see my posts and ask me for the code.

I was doing it for the good of HUKD - not for any benefical gain or Rep ffs :x:x

that wouldn't be the case if one of the codes was for your local store thou, would it :x

Baked my first loaf ..... granary, and came out pretty good, just a tiny bit of sagging but very edible.

Pleased with my first loaf too

halfpenny - does your loaf look like it has risen and then fallen back? If so it is probably too much water. I have found (with my old breadmaker) that the water quantity is very dependant on the flour you use and needs tweaking if you use a different type.

Of course its to do with YOU....that person definately wants one but cant get one because some thoughtless individual has reserved a LOAD on the off chance someone on a forum he frequents 'may' want one.

It stinks

One of the sides has sunk back.

I think it's maybe too much water or the water too warm.

But for a first effort it was pretty good overall.

Thanks Disco. For what it's worth, I appreciate your sentiment and if I wanted one of these I would be very happy that a fellow HUKD'er helped me get one ahead of the crowded masses.

Isn't that why we frequent these forums? To help each other get good deals ahead of joe public? You can't please some people :whistling:

Youve totally missed the point.

This guy has reserved a LOAD in the 'off chance' someone here may want one...(out of interest, nobody did) - whilst lots of genuine people on saturday in that area DID want one but could get one (falsely) because some half wit decided to reserve them all with no intentions of ever picking them up and paying for them.

Its because of people like this that i wish Argos would ditch their reserving system. Its too open to abuse.

Or just ban people that make reservations but don't collect. From the commercial point of view that stock will have been frozen for a busy weekend while they wait for collection... which was ultimately a no-show.

The justification that the action was taken for the good of other HUKDers is poor: It's not HUKD against the rest of the world; this isn't some elite forum that is better than everyone else.

:-D Happy Easter :-D

If you want to reserve do it for yourself not for others.

If the system is abused then Argos will change it.
