Is it worth going for this or waiting for an offer on a 580
Haha, never knew a card company did a specific "mining" edition, and now nobody wants it

Considering this one doest have any monotor outputs you would proably be better off waiting.
HDCP support: Yes - is that relevant with no ports
85# It’s the mining version only.. no connections
£107 for a 470 with no display output seems rather cold

It's not pretty, nor recommended, but it can be used as a functional GPU, here's a similar example

Theres a 470 refurb for £57 on ebay, from the same shop that was selling all those nitro cards.
Could this be used for a headless Plex server for H265 decoding?

Yep, with some setup.

Also good if you want to experiment with rocm machine learning without delving too deep into your wallet.

Forget that card if you want to play games. it only has 4gb of ram and that's not enough these days with the latest games. I picked up a refurbished sapphire Rx580 Nitro Plus 8GB from the ebay deal posted here for £120 which sadly is now out of stock but worth keeping an eye on for more.

Why not get a refurbished 570 Nitro+ (~£80) for ML?

4GB is perfectly adequate for 1080p. A card like that doesn't have the power to push resolutions and quality settings which require >4GB vram.

Try running something more powerful then solitaire and then come back and tell me that. Resident evil 2 remake would be one of the top of my head that eats ram.

To be fair 4gb is still ok. You can turn down settings to use less than 4gb on all games and you probably won’t see much difference. it’s not a long term purchase though as this will become.more difficult just as 2gb struggled a while back.
I guess you could possibly use this card for the second in a pair for Crossfire .... if that’s your thing....hardly any support for that now tho.

Yer sure 4gb is ok for people that have already got a card like my old 290x for example and like you say you can turn the detail down and just about get away with it on most things but if you were looking to go and buy a gaming card today you couldn't seriously consider anything with 4gb unless it's dead cheap and your gaming on a very small budget in which case pc gaming isn't for you.

You could. It's just the whole used vs new debate really.
Here is a modern comparison between 4GB and 8GB. If the 4GB card is cheaper ~10% or more then how is it a bad purchase?.

A 580 doesn't have the power to push the the settings that require more than 4gb, Just like 3anana said, 4gb is all you need for 1080, And the 580 is a 1080 card, Just like the extra 4gb on the 570 is a total waste of silicon, So is this, And all 3 of your statements are wrong and miss informed.
Sorry to go off topic but I'm looking to upgrade processor from an Intel 2500k to an amd.

What suggestions would you give for mining? 1600, 2600, 2700 or 3600? TIA

Well I can tell you for a fact that I can crank the gfx quality up far higher in resident evil 2 remake with 8gb of ram then I can with 4. So much for wrong and misinformed when I can actually have the tools to do the test myself. Crazy how much people Google stuff and actually believe half the crap that's posted.
