AMD RX580 cards are out of stock or ridiculously prices everywhere. Whilst still on the expensive side this is the cheapest RX580 8GB graphics card I could find and comes with a 3 year warranty.

AXRX580 8GBD5-3DH/OC Boost: 1380 MHz Memory: 8192MB 8000MHz GDDR5 Stream Processors: 2304 DirectX 12 Support AMD CrossFire AMD Eyefinity 3 Years Warranty

3 year warrenty is great, but you can preorder 8GB 580's on Amazon for roughly £220. Is the extra £60 worth the instant buy?

Edit: Sapphire Pulse 8gb for £222 on Amazon

totally agree but there is no release/available date for any RX580s on Amazon at all. has been like this for nearly 2 months so if you want one then...
I have had a RX570 on pre-order on Nova Tech since June and last week they told me they might not have any until End of september now.....
There was an interview with AMD on a news site yesterday where they suggested they were working hard to replenish the new Vega and the older RX580 cards. Might of just been a PR release from a guy at a trade fair.

Good to see the Pulse price is back to £222. it shot up by £50-60 yesterday.

To be fair cheapest price this card went for was circa £236. So this is only £40 premium. Postage is £9.90, So it's £288.99 delivered. Not sure if it's cheaper to pick up.
Good to see in stock 580's are coming down in price, cheers for the post, +
Quick question. I've got an RX 270 at the moment. I upgraded my fan to I think a 600 watt one (since read the cx600 bronze fan I bought is slated but it's served me fine for a good few years). I've ordered the pulse amazon 8GB one (in no rush) and I'd rather slightly less over clock. Will this be ok power wise if my RX 270 has been? Also do you think this can power 1440p on high at 60 hertz as I've got 2 freesync monitors (one at 1440p) so would like to use that. I was waiting for vega but think I'll have to buy whole new cooling system for that to work ok and don't want to do that and pay the extra!

I've seen eta's of 24/8/17, 31/8/17 and 14/7/17 for the sapphire's

So take your pick

"600w fan" i think you mean psu (power supply unit). You should be fine for the rx 580. As for rx vega - nope u will need a 800w plus psu.

In terms of gaming - that depends on what games and the rest of your system
I saw this earlier on that stock tracker but didn't really think it was a deal in light of Amazon's pre-order. I guess if you need a new card *now* it's a good deal given how much of a letdown Vega was and how relatively power efficient this is

Yep, exactly. Nearly all 580s on Amazon have been out of stock for around 1 month and counting (there are the odd 580 or two going for £300+, which is silly money) so if you pre-order, you could be waiting a while. I went on Amazon France and pre-ordered a Pulse 580 two weeks ago and there is no news on when they are likely to get any stock.

I also asked OverclockersUK when they will have more 8GB Nitro/Pulse 580s and their customer service said they did not know when they were getting another batch in. However, this goes contrary to a post by Gibbo who last week said OCUK were getting some 580s this week (alongside more Vega 64s) although that was last week and the info from the customer service was yesterday so that could have changed now.

Crazy though, never known such a prolonged shortage of a particular tier of graphics cards.

Vega 56 is actually decent in terms of power efficiency and at the right clocks isn't too far away from Pascal in terms of performance per watt:

The other big surprise besides good performance is how power efficient Vega can be if it's operating in the right clock/voltage band. Our testing shows power efficiency being close to the GeForce GTX 1060, which means Pascal is not that far away when running at the right settings.

Hardly excels does it? Anandtech didn't think it was that amazing from their review. There just seems to be too many ifs and buts with this card if you can even get one.

I do indeed. Was rushing out for football! Thanks for the advise. That's what I thought about Vega too. Think I'd be more tempted to buy Nvidia and G Sync monitor at those energy usage requirements! At least that plays well with Linux and can use CUDA too!

And will cost you hundreds of pounds more. Makes more sense to see where Vega prices settle in a month or so. You can't get any Pascal cards for non-obscene money right now anyway.

If you are using cuda for rendering - remember that opencl is catching up fairy quickly (thank god)

Agreed! It's funny. I was looking at a 512SSD and 16GB RAM upgrade for a 2nd mini PC and the exact same combination is literally £100 more due mainly to silicon shortages. Factor in the current prices of GPUs and you're basically paying £200-400 more for a similar system with a 480 then last year...not a good time to be upgrading a PC! Hence why I'm prepared to wait for the 580 as not paying £100-200 more for no reason!

Bought a SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 580 NITRO+ from Amazon for 273.99 inc delivery , checked amazon when i saw this post . Luckly a seller was selling a few and i bought the last one .

Thanks OP ! i might not have bought your deal but you spurred me on to look on Amazon
Shame it is a PowerColor as had issues in the past. I'm looking for a new card to tide me over until Navi/Volta next year. Probably looking at 1060/rx570.
Does anybody know what memory brand is in this card? Samsung or other?

Thanks
