Hi, mine were old imperial sizes and I have just updated (via Toolstation Barlow radiators in February 2019) to Metric Rads, its pretty straightforward, you need to get "tails" that can be cut to fit.
My boiler is 24 years old and the change of all radiators (14 in total) after using Sentinel x800 initially and then just Sentinel x100 in the system has given the boiler a new lease of life. The radiators are hot for the first time in years and the boiler has become nearly silent and for the first time in years the the thermostat is reaching temperature. Its made a huge difference and for the first time in ages I'm not dreading the house being cold.

Ideal for an understairs toilet.
I have under stairs toilet. But never thought of putting rads in there though and it's already been tiled
It's against a party wall so shouldn't be cold hopefully
It's a 1200x300 type 11 was thinking of replacing it with a 600x600 type 21. Would that be OK? I know the pipe work needs to be altered.
Ive just done an order 5 mins ago for type 21's collected. just got a text 2 mins ago saying ready for collection. about £10 a rad. quality deal
The only way that would be possible is if that store had them in stock.
Yeah and I’m not sure you can get them delivered either... I think you need to make sure your collection store has them in stock. I was able to add OOS items for collection but imagined I’d get a cancellation email. I mean the product image even says when it’s gone it’s gone
I think they are Barlow radiators made in Cardiff and used to be the best rad on the market although there's a lot of Turkish radiators. (sprinklers) about. Yes the 21 will be much better and the 22 better again. You may have to increase the flow through the lock shield valve. Why not just use s 1200x300 21 or 22 and save pulling the house to bits.
It's a bedroom refit and the window was changed from being tall to short but the radiator was left the same. The room isn't very big and it's too awkward to have this radiator behind the bed any more. I've took the radiator off and the lock shield was full open, think that will cause a problem with a type 21? Thanks.
No you need to click the drop down menu to select the different sizes. There are all sizes available.
EDIT: Although Wickes one states an extra 600BTU for same size... Hmm...

Damn those HotUK deals users breaking the Internet!
Robo123, thank you very much for the information, will look into it as my boiler 14 years old & only got 6 radiators & dread the cold months it ever seems to warm up apart from my face gets hot & feet cold . Time to update or sell up & move to Oz . Thanx again
i ordered 7 radiators from screwfix and one had a dent in it. i thought the plumber did it but sounds like it is common for them to get dent during transit, what the hell are they doing with these things when they pack them, just throw them into the van from a distance?

Time for some jumpers lol
Thanks missed that one. The Newport factory was the most modern in Europe driven by Sean Quinn who made huge investments in british industry but climbed into with the bank of Ireland and ended in (I think) prison.
