Was £9.99, but still nearly another third … Was £9.99, but still nearly another third off!http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/203833/radio-control-super-hovercraft-now-/

I think it went:
£24.99
£9.99
£6.99

Yes, I know - it's just the way Argos (and Woolworths) are a bit misleading with their prices, as it makes it look like it's been reduced from £24.99 straight down to £6.99. If you see what I mean. So you're saving £3 really, not £18. Er...yeah.

Yeah, RRP is some made up number, usually the first price they thought of, then doubled it, then added vat. As all this Chinese stuff cost almost Zero ( I know because I have imported several container loads from China) they are still making a reasonable profit at £6.99:thumbsup:

Think we worked out before that this doesn't go on water. That would've been the reason I bought it.

Although if it goes well on a wooden floor I may get it, any idea if you can run two at once.

This seems to be a very much better one at SVP: svp.co.uk/pro…039 Works on water (costs around £15)

Does This Float Then Or Just Land

This one looks exactly like the one I had a while back (until I sold it at a car boot sale).

AVOID!!!!! :w00t:
-Will only work on tiled floor
-Does not reverse at all well
-Will work on a flat calm pond with no wind
-Battery life is terrible.

You'd be better off buying a car for land and a boat for water

Pedroman - what you said is something I've been thinking about for a while (importing crates from China). Would be interested to find out more, how you went about it etc. If you get 5 mins, could you PM me with some info?

Hi Pedro
I would love some info on this also if you have done it. Please forward me the info. Thank you

I'd suggest avoiding these hovercrafts too.
I had a similar one, the battery life was terrible. After 3-4 minutes whenever you steered, it would suck power from the hovering motor, so it would deflate slightly and slow down or stop. Not fun at all.

Bargain

these were sold in woolworths for £24.99 last christmas and the one before that. they do go on water but the battery life is very poor 10 minutes at the most still worth £6.99 though I have had one which went back as faulty. they are good fun for garden pools because you cant swim in them at the moment because of the weather.

Tried a similar one before from iwoot and it was awful....tried on all types of surfaces with little luck and after just one go on each I car booted it soon after.....couldn't even chase the ducks with it because it was so difficult to control in low wind....well more like a light breeze. >_>

Don't bother, been there done that!! I always wanted a hovercraft but it was useless.

Do not know if its been mentioned but I used to test these when I worked at Harrods to show customers.

The thing is a BEAST at eating battery life. A full charge gives you 14 mins tops.
