Nice clock with big clear display. Bought one last year when they were £9.99. Highly recommended.

I've got two - no problems

I forgot to put in the post, it's available from Thursday

I got one of these around 6 years ago when Aldi in my area first opened and still going strong, same name but slightly changed the face of it, still works great, think I have inly changed battery 2-3 times

They're quite a nice clock. Got one last year.

Although they can occasionally go a bit wonky and start saying it's the 6 hours later on a date 3 months earlier. They could do with better error correction when the signal from the transmitter corrupts.

Had one for two years. Nice clear display . Still on it's original battery and no reliability issues despite being sat a foot from the stove with all the steam etc.
Bargain !

Got one a couple of years ago and still going strong, but will get another on thursday at that price

I think they take the signal from a place in Germany. When they lose the signal they can read all hours.
Generally very good though.

does it have a stand for use on a shelf? what actual height is it?
thanks

16 x 23cm and yes, it has a stand or can be hung on the wall.

Yep it's probably is DCF77 on 77.5 kHz in Mainflingen.

Do you know if it's mains or battery operated, we have a mains one but it is always 5 minutes slower because of the RCD adaptor on our fuse box.

Thanks

Battery operated.

Got one of these about 18 months ago. Excellent product.

How does it do in the dark? is the display bright enough? is it backlit or glow etc?

doesnt say anything on the website... good find tho

i had one, always "corrected" the time to one hour later eg german time when the receiver was active. anyone know why?

Sounds like the time zone not set up correctly.

Ok, got myself another one yesterday. The problem I had with the time corrupting on the one I got last year has only happened about 4 times, and it's generally corrected itself a few hours later, and I really liked the clock in other ways, so I decided to get another.

A word of warning to those going to buy another one if they've bought one in previous years. Although the display is the same size overall (exactly the same case design), the number displays are smaller and more squat. I assume this is to allow for the rearrangement (which I think is poorer) to allow for the "week of year" display. Quite what use a week of year is I don't know, but it's no use to me. ALSO the contrast on the display is noticably poorer, so they seem to have downgraded the display quality.

So, cheaper, but a downgrade in quality, which is a pity. I'd have rather have paid £9.99 for the old style one. Still fairly good value, though.

MR. G. There's no back light that I'm aware of, there are some attachable feet, but they look a bit flimsy and I've never tried attaching them. It's really meant more as a wall clock than an alarm clock, IMO (hence the control buttons on the back), even though there is a settable alarm on it. I wouldn't recommend trying to use it as an alarm clock, myself.

I've just bought one of these in an end-of-line sale for £6.99 in my local Aldi but there were no instructions in the box. I can't find any reference to the clock on the manufacturer's web site so can't get one from them. Does anyone have an instruction sheet which they could copy and send to me, or if finished with one I'd be happy to take it off your hands. Thanks.

Hi, I have one of these clocks and had to replace the battery a few days ago, since then have been unable to set it to uk time, and of course have lost the instructions., Can anyone remind me how to do this. I am being driven mad by it.
